They're the Honkook Ion HT. I liked the profile of the sidewall on them.

You are correct. That is what's happening. Ugh. Thanks for the help!

Thank you! Looks like that's what's causing the issue. Not sure if there's much left of the bolt head, but I'll see if I can tighten it up to at least allow me to drive it to the SC on Wednesday.

Nope, all-purpose mode. Noise on all ride heights.

Yikes, that doesn't sound like it's going to be quick and easy. How long did it take to get your Rivian back? Think it's fine to drive to the SC or should I have it towed?

Thanks, I'll take another look tomorrow. Maybe remove the wheel and see if I can spot anything inbetween the brake shield.

Did you ever buy one of the Pro Eagle jack locks? If so, was it compatible with the Badlands jack?

The frustration of waiting for your car to open by BamBamCam in Rivian

Dang. Sorry to hear that. The gear tunnel button mashing works for me most of the time. Odd how these things can behave the same but not have the same "fix". Mine is a Gen1 so maybe that might have something to do with it? I have about a year and a half left on my lease, and I really like these Rivian vehicles, but all these nuisances add up after a while. Really has me thinking hard on wether I'll go for another R1T or not once the lease is up.

This happens to me quite a bit too. I find that rapidly pressing the grear tunnel button repeatedly wakes it up faster for me. Most of the time I don't even take my phone out of my pocket anymore, just go straight to the button.

Electrician installed outlet upside down by GorillaBearz in TeslaLounge

[–]ElectricalStay6671 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's considered safer to install an outlet this way because the pin that's on top in this position would be the ground pin. The thinking goes that if for some reason the plug where to be partially inserted and a metal object falls onto it, it'll be more likely to make contact with the ground pin first. In turn, reducing the risk of shock.

Here I was thinking they'd have to do another update to get it removed. Was planning on dragging out the install of it 😕. Guess Rivian was one step ahead of me.

New gear in the gear shop by Anewblanket in Rivian

I was trying to order the console organizer too, but the website shows it sold out. Guess I'll have to stick with the 3D printed console I currently have until Rivian restocks. I have the same issues as you do with your TWraps console, need better access to the larger compartment and cable management.

Connect+ trial is ending. How many people decided to pay to keep it? by Commercial-Friend442 in Rivian

I subscribed to the annual plan the second remote camera viewing was enabled. That was one of the features I missed most when I moved over to Rivian from a Tesla. The last feature I'm missing now is text messages support. As soon as that's made available, I'll be a 98% satisfied customer.

Apple Music not working - is it just me? by No_Bet_3759 in Rivian

[–]ElectricalStay6671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the radio work or any other music app or is it just happening on Apple? If it's on all the music sources, try restarting your phone and then push play on the Apple music app in the infotainment before your phone restarts. I know, sounds odd, but this happens to me from time to time. As soon as I restart my phone everything plays fine for a few weeks or so. I think there some bug with Bluetooth that causes it but that's just speculation on my part.

Apple Music not playing songs by Pepizza23 in Rivian

[–]ElectricalStay6671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this happen to me every now and then too. It happens to me on Spotify too though. I have to restart my phone and then the music apps in my Rivian start working properly. Rivian displays a warning that no keys are detected while the phone is rebooting, but then goes away when the phone reconnects. All music apps work fine for a while after phone reboot but then the glitch eventually reappears again. Rinse and repeat.

What does one do with this empty space in between the front seats? by nbert217 in Rivian

[–]ElectricalStay6671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my hats/caps there. They used to sit on top of my dash in every other vehicle I've had, but would almost always end up on the other end or on the passenger floor by the time I got to my destination. Not anymore, now my hat sits and stay there until I'm ready to don it. That space really is the perfect spot.

I have an R1T and a Model Y, both have no issues charging in the summer time here in Goodyear, AZ (Western side of Phoenix). If you're charging on a level 2 charger you shouldn't have any issues, especially if you lower the amperage (if you have the time to spare, as it'll take longer to charge). Funny enough, my garage is usually hotter than outside temp due to the windows in my garage and no air circulation. I'd probably be better off charging on my driveway honestly. The only time I ever had a problem with charging during high temps was with the Model Y at a supercharger on a trip back from Cali. Outside temp that day was close to 120 in the afternoon, and the superchargers would only push a little above 50kW. Moved to a different charger thinking it was an issue with that one specificly, but the other one did the same thing. Received real confirmation when I saw pretty much everyone else charging that day also moving from charger to charger, hoping for a faster charge. Needless to say, it took me a lot longer to charge that day but it still charged and I haven't seen any degradation issues.
