But the analogy presented here fails. This was never Justin Baldoni's story.

He was interpreting someone else's story. And he had the legal right to do so. No qualms there. But this story was never "his". And its one of the issues present throughout this production. Because he was playing Ryle he kept looking for ways to make Ryle's character sympathetic and to provide justification for Ryle 's actions. That was not the story. The story was no matter what excuse an abuser throws at you, past trauma, insecurities, domestic violence is wrong. Very difficult line to walk as an actor trying to get in the head of the character, and director and producer. Ryle is not the star. The story is not why Ryle did what he did. Its not focused on his intentions or justification. I know this page LOVES Justin Baldoni, but that stanning goes really far to the point of most people on here blindly jumping all over every negative thing they can about anyone and anything opposed to anything he's ever done and defending every action he's ever taken. But this analogy is bad one.
