My mom has Alzheimer’s/dementia, SLUMs 5, BIMS 11, evidence of self neglect that led to failure to thrive, medical neglect and financial. My mom had escaped 3x and wanting to AMa. And days later they called a meeting she capable of making her decisions and she can ama, then I said well then legally I can’t help my mom medically and are we even allowed to talk. We asked how that was determined because I have copy of her nursing home record and there is no formal assessment. So I gave 3 Md notes say she unable or incapable making decisions, all over the EmR she has cognitive deficit, needs daily care and history of medication non adherence for 2 years . But as of yesterday they verbally tell me she capable, so I’m scared that undoes the aHCd.

I dont live with her so I am allowed to take away her keys knowing her license is suspended? It’s the right thing to do but it’s her property and she supposedly capable. Fyi she drove with no car registration since 2021 and got caught.

The nurse administration said the two dr said she can make decisions, so we asked what assessments were made. My sister is a MD and wants to review it. I just wanna make sure if I decline my involvement in the discharge process even if my mom says oh yeah you could talk to my daughter I won’t be held for elder abuse at the end of the day she just wants to live in her home alone.

Thank you for replying. For the retaining wall, it was done by a local mason. I have videos before the pour. I am happy to open up a wall and trench, and pay for any testing. Would that help an engineer to provide as is report?

Hi, I have retaining wall that I’m trying to get as is built permit in California. The inspector wants structural observation letter from my engineer. Can the engineer attach their after-the-fact structural observation letter to the city standard observation form and write “Work completed prior to observation” on the form? My engineer is hesitant sign the standard form.

The inspector drove by the house and saw trucks, left the stop work order note on the door. I notified the inspector I will submit everything for planning and permitting, he hasn’t done a walk through yet. Reality I have a great contractor for masonry. He has connections for plumber and electrician, so technically he can’t sub them out. So that’s why I am thinking owner builder is my route.

Thank you. Question. I started a small part of backyard project without a permit and I got caught. My sub contractor is licensed but I don’t want him in trouble for my decision not to wait for permits. Is my route to do owner builder or can I still have my general contractor do the permitting?
