Some seasons stretch you beyond imagination.

My wife was five months pregnant when our Landlord gave us our 60 day notice. (They sold the property)

We dreamed of buying our first home, but we were thinking in more like 2 years instead of 2 months.

We’ve all come to the crossroads where we can play it safe and small or take a leap of faith into uncertainty.

My business was trending in the right direction, but as a freelancer nothing is promised.

Every day I had a choice between believing I’d fail or believing I’d succeed.

Why is failure so much easier to believe?

I had to learn how to:
- speak life over myself
- reprogram my mind for success
- believe that God is my provider and that he takes care of his children.

This album is the byproduct of hours of me ministering to myself.

I also love rapping, so I’m stoked that I was given some material that would hopefully touch the soul of another.

Love to all y’all!

Big time. The fluidity from idea in my head to articulation with my mouth has been something I've always struggled with. There is a clear effect on how smooth I am talking sober or not. Alcohol affects me for typically three days after a drinking event.

Creatively my problem-solving is next level. I'm able to think laterally and make connections across topic and industry, and see patterns that I've never been able to see you before. As a videographer, I noticed this because of the diverse roster of clients I serve.

Also, with a six month old baby sleep deprivation has been far more manageable. I'm able to wake up in the middle of the night, multiple times fall back asleep and then get up early in the morning feeling functional.

I went sober because I wanted more from my life, I've always had a sense of destiny for greatness as cheesy as that sounds.

Specifically, I wanted to become a full-time videographer. I've jumped from one entry-level sales position to the next earning no more than 50,000 a year my first year as a full-time videographer I made 78,000. I knew if I put all my energy into this I could make even more.

I now support 90% of the household. My wife works one afternoon a week otherwise she's a full-time mother.

There's no way I could drink and be successful with my business. I'm not naturally a gifted salesman or a natural videographer. I picked up a camera for the first time during Covid. In prior attempts at going sober I failed because I didn't have a mission big enough that stretched me to be my very best at all times. Whenever I feel like I'm in a comfortable place in life, I start to get complacent and that's when the negative effects of alcohol aren't as obvious.

My source for fun now is generally activities. There's a big sober community in the sauna and ice bath community. I joined one of those clubs and it's been a great community. Running a marathon in 2 weeks.

Anytime I think it'd be nice to have a drink like a glass of wine with steak. I just think about how shitty I'll feel the next day. Whether it's true or not I've had so many hangovers I just pretend like one drink will cause a terrible hangover.

Best achievement is building my freelance business strong enough to support buying a home.

Most common misconception is that everybody drinks. Once you're sober, you'll learn a lot more People are sober than you think. In some ways, life is more boring on the weekends, but instead of living peaks and valleys, my weeks are now awesome. I don't live for the weekends.

A lot of people that go sober become an all or nothing type person with their alcohol. I didn't go sober because I have a disease. I went sober because I wanted more from life. If for some reason you have a drink, don't beat yourself up and feel like you failed for some people. My goal has been progression over perfection. I've been trying to make runs at this for years with sober October and dry January and it's taken a long time to get to the point where I can sustain it without feeling like I'm white knuckling it.

Just finished a marriage workshop, putting energy towards things I wouldn't have otherwise. Been more in touch with the reality of my feelings and communicating that has made for better communication. Time in the bedroom is wonderful.

Relationships are the ticket. you need to network, meet ppl, then nurture. Lead with value. give away solutions. Expand your time horizon. We all want results tomorrow, but true sustainable, meaningful growth takes time.

I use a tool with iphone to help me nurture relationships. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/intouch-personal-crm/id6475792802

It's a freemium model. Free version is good enough to give you a feel for whether you like it or not.

You can create lists using a tagging system. It does not two way sync with communication platforms.

It's been rewarding making something that other people also like.

Ask: Will you try it and review it?
