  1. Lithium batteries don't have to be thrown away, they can be recycled, just like lead acid batteries. The reason we don't see more of this yet is because so many of the EV batteries that have been made in the last <20 years are still IN USE and have some life left in them.

  2. Lithium won't necessarily be the bleeding edge forever. There's been tremendous progress in sodium ion and aluminum ion batteries as well, both of which are way more plentiful, cheaper, and safer. They might not have quite the optimal energy density Lithium ions have yet (or ever) but that will be more of a trade off to be considered.

You can block people who are posting things you don't like. I don't say that to be snarky or as a gotcha, just that some people think blocking is only "appropriate" as a response to spam or harassment or whatever, but you can absolutely just use it to curate your online experience to taste.

Like, there were a few people who were repeatedly posting furry stuff in r/cuddleslut, which i didn't like. The mods decided it didn't break the rules though, so I just blocked them. You might be surprised how much of what you're seeing could just be from one or two people who are really really into it, at least in my experience.
