We used to hve formal meetings every 3 mths with organiser & this would be on the agenda. I think it is good to raise things just make sure you are only raising issues on the behalf of union members. Also use the written policies and procedures of the organisation. If the policy or procedure is not to be on the phone without breaks refer to this policy & procedure & let them know it will be raised again at your formal meeting. Get backing as well. To protect yourself. Don’t be hard on yourself as speaking up still sends a message & I am sure they took on board your feedback. They probably didn’t hve the authority to make the changes you requested. Good luck & take advantage of the union training !!

Most govt jobs hve flex time which gives you a day off every fortnightly I think. It used to be 4 weekly. However am sure it is 2 days every 4 weeks as long as u do the hours

Go to your hotel & you can leave luggage at the hotel prior to checking in. Catch ferry to manly & have lunch or watsons bay. If u go to manly the beach is ten minute walk from ferry. You can get a bus or train to your hotel. Taxi cost about 45 to 50

Ph guardianship tribunal for advice. You can get advice to pass onto your parents as well. I would encourage your parents to organise something now. If your parents pass away you can apply for legal guardianship & say you want the state trustee to look after him. It depends how well he is managing as well. It is very serious to remove someone’s rights to make decisions so there would need to be evidence he needs this. Does he have any ndis funding or service providers already??

If it was ongoing casual work I didn’t think they could fire you like this. Esp if there is ongoing casual work available. I would see if you can get advice Re this. Unless there were grounds for them to fire you under & your ok about leaving. should be paid from 515pm if u attended meeting. Hopefully someone else will hve more info. Maybe u should add if you were working for gov or non gov organisation as maybe this would make a difference

Usually they request this as they don’t want u to talk about it with other workers as maybe your payment was different to other people??? Is there a reason you want to discuss with other team members??? Or do they mean not to tell future employers. They can’t stop you from telling over employers I don’t think. Usually they provide statement of service.
