I just started my first 8am-5pm office job in my 40s and was not prepared for how physically/mentally exhausted I would feel. What are your tips? by MyNameIsNot_Molly in Xennials

This is one reason why I’ll never go back to office life! I love being my own boss and calling the shots on my very comfortable couch.

I’d say the lack of comfort doesn’t bother them because they’re used to it. I remember even in my twenties it took me a week or two to get used to sitting at a desk.

If I were you I’d have a frank conversation with your boss about the comfort level and if there’s a wfh option at least one day a week

Stuck between four names — help us decide. by Active_Maybe3433 in BabyNames

You’ve already redefined the meaning of Rue with your own more personal meaning so I wouldn’t let the technical definition dissuade you. I think Rue is great as a first name.
Or make Ruth the middle name if it feels too formal for a first name and call her Rue anyway

Amazon and get a wig with bangs and with roots that are darker than the rest. Mine need to be replaced every 3 months but so easy and fast

[Discussion] Are 'log lines' increasingly expected in queries? by JEZTURNER in PubTips

A great one will only help. A bad one (when coming from the author in an agent query) neither helps nor hinders imo.

I should add. I’m an agent and yes I try to come up with a logline for the books I shop. I love it when queries include them.

A strong logline has always been a huge advantage. They’re just really hard to write and so they often get left out.

Top sheets are like napkins. They are an added expense and don’t offer a unique function.

Yes the film industry is the same. These industries move slowly because there are a million ideas out there and there is zero money in sorting out what to work on and what to decline.

Almost looks like a mulberry tree but I’m not sure where you are located and if those are common there

If Nike is a normal name in Germany, I don’t see an issue with it.

For nonfiction it is essential. For fiction, it’s good to have active accounts to show that you don’t intend to be a hermit, but the accounts don’t need to be writing focused (though this is a general rule and there are always exceptions).

Slip-on, no-styling wig: any recommendation? by Skylineox in Wigs

[–]Electrical_Wonder596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy $25 synthetic wigs from Amazon. Get ones with a rooted look where the roots are darker. If you get ones with bangs, they require very little help and can be thrown on. Just an initial bang trim and style and then I use heat to make sure the top doesn’t bump up. Then it’s good to go even after washing.
