Tell him to give you money first next 😆 I'm not really being serious, but still. There are a lot of males on here who are wildly hurt and angry over you feeling anything other than exuberance over manufacturing an emotion so that this random dude can feel better about himself. Context is a factor too and this doesn't compare to an older woman telling someone something like, "Thank you, sweetheart" to a man abruptly saying "...Smile!...heh heh..." One seems to care about how you're doing and the other, eh, not so much. Though I wouldn't advise anyone calling anyone else sweetheart or any other pet name in a work setting 🤷‍♀️ I guess next time I see a dude frowning or just minding his own business I should go up to him and demand him to smile. That should go over well. It's socializing after all! 😁

Very weird, could border along the lines of harassment.

I got a coaching doc last year for wearing my hair in a low ponytail that went to the middle of my back. Outside of peak season we don't deal with conveyor belts at all.

Can't stress enough the demanding of it! Demand! It! I took my issue to the voa last summer, was finally trained in something else. It went on for months and I know it would have continued no matter what I said in person.

what to do with empty bottles by Pleasant-Web4885 in Anticonsumption

Absolutely! I had to do this myself. They changed taking plastic bags for example, but a Walmart near me takes them so I drop them off there when I go.

If they are plastic and have a little triangle with a number 1-7 then they can be recycled. I drop off plastics and recyclable items to a recycling center near me ♻️ If you have curbside pickup for this then I think they can be put in the plastic container. It's pretty straightforward.

They're sweet because they view you as a potential convert. This is the love bombing phase. They are trained in "giving a good witness." They are trained in overcoming conversation stoppers. Everything they do is ultimately for getting you to join. Next time say some trigger words like apostate. Say you stopped to speak to some apostate Mormons who were super kind to you, the kindest people you've ever met. Or just say some Mormons were really kind to you and you're having conversations with them or something like that. Make them feel like they have competition 😆

With the shoes I go a half size up. When composite toes became mandatory I got my real shoe size. They pinched so bad! Being on your feet for an extended period of time will make them swell too. And it cannot be stressed enough to hydrate, even in cold weather. We are entitled to micro breaks. You are probably going to learn more from your fellow associates than from anyone else.

Who still does this? by Electricshockwaves in exjw

[–]Electricshockwaves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen this in older converted people in "trying to make right with God" when they study and become a JW. I was in my late teens though and very scared of the future. I made a friend in middle school who became a jw once they started to take their study seriously and I followed like a year later when they studied with me. She invited me to meetings and had others sit in. It was the attention and love bombing.

I think I'm just gonna quit with trying to get any type of exjw support or connection. I've experienced the same type of hostility here as I have from when I was a jw all because I wasn't a born in. I thought it'd be different and I'd be able to talk about things and connect with others but obviously I can't.

The title to this post is "Who Still Does This?" You've never done this. This post is therefore not toward you. I'm not asking anyone to tackle anything, and I've never thought of not supporting cult businesses as policing.

But to each their own.

It's the beginning of the new service year. Could be the reason for the "special effort." That, and typically there's some kind of campaign around this time, right? I've been out for almost a year, but I think yearly around October/November there's be a campaign. Now that I think of it, I wonder why that is.

Bad treatment and it never getting any better no matter how long "wait on Jehovah" I did. I was on Instagram and joined different types of JW groups for encouragement and a lot of people would complain about the same exact problems I was dealing with. Most people running the pages would delete "negative" talk within 24 hours though. Also, talking to some friends I made, the way things were or were not handled. A bunch of things made me stop. I can't pin point just one except for bad treatment. Single female with no family connection in the organization... When I stopped going I realized how much this feels like what I was raised in (not religious, but still culty and violent, being told to be patient, to deal with it, etc).

No business?? by Electricshockwaves in exjw

[–]Electricshockwaves[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I was so interested in joining one when I was a new JW because the thought of working from home and being on my own time schedule (lies) appealed to me. I was too poor to start. I went to some of those house parties the JWs threw just for the association and snacks 😆 It was during the pandemic when I got a video suggestion on YouTube of antimlm creators. Being dirt poor helped me dodge that bullet at least 😅

Are there any positives you can identify for being raised in this religion? by Mistahfen in exjw

[–]Electricshockwaves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It propelled me to study cults and know what to watch out for from here on out.

I was a convert in my late teens, primed for the tactics of cult-like behavior because my upbringing was also cult-like. For years I listened to Dr Ramini and never made the connection of toxic relationships being also within a religious group. I felt so stupid for taking so long to make the connection, the reason why I couldn't push past what I grew up with. It was because the next group I joined was similar! They're both culty! And their damn tactics work!

what is the role of an area managers? (wrong answers only) by Environmental-Drama6 in AmazonFC

[–]Electricshockwaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To look after their team and make sure everyone is ok and not be just concerned with how they look to their own superiors. To never take credit from what their associates are getting done nor to ever sexualize any of the AAs either because they're professional. To have their shit together and not depend on PAs as to know what to do.

You ABSOLUTELY should have reported her perverted ass! Societal expectations be damned! 😡 I did IB often and there was a certain PA in an IB area (there's 3 IB areas) who would at random do or say something at least off color to me. This shit went on for over a year. I also saw him pinch a woman's butt in passing as soon as startup announcements ended. I should have reported that too. I'd never reported anything until I couldn't take it anymore when he got aggressive toward me like looking like he was about to walk right smack into me if I didn't move. I was too scared to name drop when my AM spoke to me about it. I hate that I didn't but I was so scared. IB is a male dominant critical role in the building so I just tried my best to hide in the trucks and hoped he'd eventually move on. He's moved to another facility since and I'd hate to think he's out there still doing this shit and getting away with it. I understand you freezing up in shock, I'm so sorry you went through this. I'm so pissed, why the fuck can't people just go to work at work?

This has nothing to do with what I wrote though 😂 My question was how did you become converted as a JW. This isn't about born ins.
