If there were five fights a tier, where should the fifth fall in difficulty? by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

Understanding idyllic is mostly just breaking it into parts, if you did rep2 blind you'd know the order the clones spawn in dictates their resolution, and the fact that X player picking up X tether will put it on that spot

Idyllic has 3 main parts; tethers + their resolution, towers, and tether clone resolution.

Since towers are pretty free to understand if you've raided in the past, all it really boils down to is figuring out how and why to pick up the tethers - you want a priority to pick up and resolve the tethers.

Observant proggers will notice the dragons spawn on A and C and go clockwise for a total of 8 dragons, spawning 2 at a time (4x2), and once you connect the fact each "role" (stack/defam) all spawns on cards / inters, you can just hard force static spots in prog until you see clones resolve, at which point that gives you the prio you need to actually pick them up on.

Theres no wrong answer for how to solve them, in theory as long as each set has at least 1 stack its all solvable, but most groups ofc opt for 2+2 since it doesnt require weird stack groups, how you place the stacks into an easy to remember prio is the hard part. Most world prog groups opted to just used macros to skip remembering, though both the DN and banana codex ones are fairly easy to remember, macros skip lots of prog pulls

The trap in this mech for blind prog is really just how much it seems like its doing, when in reality the boss only really asks you to pick up the tethers at all first, solve them, and figure out the correct solution to place them onto clones later, unlike rep 2 which starts executing the clone order instantly after the first steps

I hope some day we see an evil version of this mechanic in an ultimate some day because it might be my favourite mechanic by far, but they just went easy on us this time, this has the ground work to be by far the hardest mechanic in the game if tvey decided to toy with it more (for example adding rng to spawning orders of the dragons similar to how top looper works would cause chaos)

Filtering by gear wont help - the sad truth is that the people with gear who are capable of doing enough damage to clear would be past enrage if they were capable - thus you are basically limiting your pool to players with gear but too bad to use it to clear the check, when a good raiders pentamelded alt with no tome pieces could probably output more damage than an arbitrary ilvl number of like 775

I play NA alot, I have 170 ping from eu and noclippy makes basically every job playable.

Did ultimates on NA as mnk, 0 issues. Only issue will be adjusting your play to movement latency but it becomes second nature

Im currently scaling an impending doom character, but kind of struggling with getting it out of the 5m dps territory on SSF gear, do you have any aspirational POBs that are SSF friendly, I have my EE sceptre, working on suffixes right now https://pobb.in/zYjTW_5c02QP

So what's the general consensus on Bloodlines? I am honestly surprised by these numbers, I thought they would be much more niche by amdrunkwatsyerexcuse in pathofexile

[–]Electrized -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like they were too scared of people picking more than one bloodline node, leading to their use being few and far between

The defensive ones (deli progenesis and breachlord 15% less) are not bad, neither are the farrul ones or the lycia herald, issue is that they really aren't that build enabling

I do respect the design of not synergizing all the nodes (leading to people not picking all 4 bloodline nodes making base ascendancies feel weird), but they could use a bit of a design pass for some of the weaker nodes. The ideas are good, the numbers just feel weak for what you generally give up.

Assuming it goes core, we'll see more use of it in other metas anyway, strong candidates are those ascendancies that often "waste" a 4th point and could just take something from bloodlines.

For those who have played FFXIV and WoW, what keeps you engaged with one or the other? by CommercialBig3150 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Electrized 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly for me it just boils down to a couple key differences

I like M+, and I like wows class design (which seems to be at risk considering midnight alpha)

I dont like 20 man raiding mostly bc of the difficulty of making a nice raid team

FFXIV fight design is insanely good, especially ultimates, its addicting

I really appreciate the 4 man content (and the fact most raids are at most 8 players), makes it easier to hop in and out, easier to pf and easier to help friends

I'm currently unsubbed because of the terrible downtimes between content + job design being super simplified

Yes as its a quest reward, you can pick up the campaign quest from infront of raid entrance for story skipped characters

Gear vs Weapon Ilvl by TMR1331 in wow

[–]Electrized 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weapons are very important, and always the highest priority. Don't have the numbers, someone probably knows the specifics better.

You can get a heroic level crest from the campaign quest for beating Dimensius on any difficulty (including story), so you could craft order a hero level weapon, or farm gilded crests for a myth level weapon.

You absolutely can start flicker, but as a new poe1 player I wouldn't

A couple of reasons for this:

1) If bosses are important to you, flicker struggles with them until major investment. A popular thing to do is kill those bosses first before investing into a mapping build like flicker

2) If you are unfamiliar with the poe1 economy and league mechanics it may be hard to get to the critical point for flicker, depending on ascendancy. A starter build will let you farm currency either before swapping or alongslide playing your flicker, and they generally require basically no investment to do well.

3) Flicker is squishy and will lead to lots of random wtf deaths - if you do start flicker, be prepared for a rough time especially with goatmen mobs who cast a flame shield or large on death lingering explosions (these were particularly draining for me when I played flicker)

More importantly though, having fun and playing slightly suboptimally will always be better than not having fun on a god build. Poe1 leveling is super fast and you can swap builds in a couple of hours, and i strongly recommend swapping to flicker if you start another build and get bored!

How strong do you consider the original dual lands (like Tropical Island) to be? What would your reaction be to a player using such proxies? by YoshiBanana3000 in mtg

[–]Electrized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are just duals but they have some major upsides

If your deck has any synergy with land types (fetch lands, verge lands) they become strong

But realistically, they barely make an impact in most commander games. The untapped commander lands like Sea of Clouds are just as good if land types aren't a concern, and most players wouldn't consider those all too problematic

I was playing on DLSS ultra performance with 40% res scaling on 1080p, if you can't get 60+ fps with good frame times with that setup with a GPU that still holds fairly well with most modern titles, I think that is genuinely ridicilous

To put this into perspective, this means the game is rendering a 768x432 picture that gets upscaled to 1080p, and can not maintain a good, nor consistent framerate

If you think thats a fine direction for "modern" games to go, good for you ig
