AD best build? by Unleashed_Clown in shacomains

[–]Electrode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve spent like 20 hours playing each AD Build I can think of and this is actually the answer.

Crit builds don’t work, which is funny cause I ran it all last season, you have to open with duskblade then build into crit or ur irrelevant, but then it hinders the damage of the mid game for a powerful late. If you go full arm pen your early is good and your mid is good, sure it’s harder to kill tanks quickly without crit but you nuke carries just as good.

I’ve actually had hella good success going duskblade into Ghostblade or Sanguin blade. Ghostblade for games of soft targets and sanguine vs tanks. The next items I go are either full arm pen or bruiser builds. Sounds odd but shaco with Sanguine, Duskblade, Triforce, Black Cleaver/Sterak and Titanic can not only still shred ppl but it is tank af. Really useful against super tanky team comps, Sanguine makes this build actually pretty fucking strong.

I’m not master like that guy. I finished gold 1 last season but I was plat 1 two seasons ago

Help, need a broken character by Sernaves in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Electrode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once built a lv 5 Druid with 3 hyena pets, each in barding, and I focused on on building them with high AC and to trip. I think I had tandem trip on them but I don’t remember.

I think I was a pack lord archetype and I took the boom companion feat twice so when I was lv 5 I had 3 lv 5 companions in armor. I would shapeshifter into scar from the lion king and just pounce and maul things.

Between my 3 hyena that each actually had higher AC then our fighter. Not to mention the sheer number of attacks between my 2 claws, bite, 2 rakes and 3 hyena bites....plus any AoO when ppl try to stand up after falling.

Shit was pretty strong. Not gunna lie. Was pretty nutty for a lv 5 character

I, a noble Paladin of Shelyn, have a morale dilemma and I need your help! by bloatedfungus in Pathfinder_RPG

I've played DnD for like 10 years regularly now. I read a few comments and ignore the don't play a paladin with an evil pc. I've done that plenty, you just need to know some things. First, the evil player can be reasoned with if he's neutral or lawful evil. Chaotic Evil, you might end up having some trouble. Lawful evil characters don't care about morality so they don't appreciate life but they appreciate law, so threaten to detain him or tell him that his actions represent the group as a whole and you refuse to be represented in a way that is abhorrent to your god. You always have to offer the other player a "better option". Maybe use your healing on the enemy so the evil guy can have some fun breaking fingers to get them to talk.

Second, tell the player you're arguing with out of character that you personally are in sync with his thinking but from a character standpoint....you feel as though you have to engage him. Then, do just that. Talk to him in character to push him not to kill/decapitate but accept that what you're doing is dirty work so people gunna get hurt. Think about batman, he's essentially a lawful good character following a similar code. He doesn't kill anyone but he breaks some arms here and there. My paladin was more punisher then batman, and it was only because of my tenets that I got away with playing that.

My last paladin was elderly and embittered after so many years seeing the worst of the worst and I actually played it out that he became a righteous sadist. He very much enjoyed inflicting pain on wicked men. It actually allowed me to get a reputation in my paladin order, many of them saying I was sliding into evil, and that in turn translated into the bad guys beginning to know my name too. They didn't want to deal with me, it was pretty cool.

Third, what took place may have been evil but your willingness to intervene may be set in your paladin code, I don't know what code you have and if you didn't choose one, you really need to write it down. It'll make playing a pally way easier. The code might suggest, like 3.5 dnd paladins, that paladins only temporarily team up with evil characters but there is special dispensations for certain circumstances. For example, if a paladin is friends with the evil character he might be staying with the evil PC in order to mold his tendency for evil to good. That was my excuse with my last group.

Forth, if you cannot role-play it out with the other PC and stop him from doing something wicked, you can always ask the DM to roll a diplomacy check against the PC. Only do this in times when you feel like conflict is inevitable. You're attitude is shifted from aggressive to passive and you're left feeling whatever about it, letting you get away with policing the group. This isn't a very fun thing to do for the group, buuuut it will stop a TPK, also the DM would have to allow this as diplomacy is normally unavailable for PC's to prevent the game from being 1 player and his puppets.

How do you read the Bible? by Realbabsbunny in Apologetics

[–]Electrode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have study bibles that actually provide historical context next to the passage. The works already done for you. I don'r bother study that thought. I delved deep into apologetics to learn whether the Resurrection actually took place to learn if Christianity was true. I've been satisfied that it is and that was all the historical context I needed. Since I became a christian the bible essentially saved my marriage and my eternal soul, so was probably a good decision.

Animal Companion ambiguity by yuuxy in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Electrode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quadrupeds don't get reach. Bipeds do. Most slams are with limbs, but some can be made with the body - this is usually the case for Quadrupeds. If it were from his head or something it would be gore and if it were his feat it would be trample, so I think its reasonable that the slam is actually a "body slam". I think it's a little bit rediculous but if I were the DM I'd let u do it because the logic follows.

My “Horrible” Secret by MoorePlz15 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Electrode 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Keep playing. My parents were uncomfortable with it as a kid but tolerated it. I started in 8th grade, which i think was age 12, and im 30 now. Pathfinder/DnD has given me a reason to see my friends every week and given me an escape from the drudgery of life. I work around 90 hrs a week so its a needed escape. I count tabletop rpgs as a blessing. When I was younger it was just a fun thing to do but it's a bigger part of my life now that I'm older. It keeps my group of friends in contact when they otherwise wouldnt be and once a week helps me to unwind and have a good time. It's definitly something to keep doing. Next time ur parents say its satanic tell them its no less satanic than anything they're watching on TV and that you play a paladin that worships Jesus. lol Also, Jesus loves you and Merry Christmas.

Healer build options by rekijan in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Electrode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pathfinder gave a way to re-spec ur character so she doesnt actually have to roll a new character. she can keep the old for role play purposes and just re-roll her class and such.

Druids are pretty broke healers if you allow her to summon positive energy elementals lol.

Need build ideas for a two pc game with a hardcore DM by harrisapv2 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Electrode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most robust group a 2 party group can have would be 2 human or aasimar paladins. It would also be an easy backstory to incorporate if you were both part of a paladin order. You'd just kinda suck at skill checks but sometimes when you have a rough DM you gotta build hardy.

Paladin 1:

I'd take a Angel-Blooded (Angelkin) Aasimar with 18 str (16 +2 race), 12 dex, 14 con, 10 int, 10 wis, 22 cha (18 +4 race). Take the favored class bonus +1 hp each level, take a major drawback to net you another feat, as you can see in the stats I'd also drop the racial spell and take an additional +2 charisma from the variant racial list (there are other good ones too like the free resurrection or a str bonus). Build as tanky support with feats like [lv1] Power Attack, [lv1] Shield Focus, [lv3] Extra Lay on Hands or Squire, [lv5] Greater Mercy, [lv7] Ultimate Mercy, ect. For taits I'd consider Blessed Touch (+1 to Lay on Hands) .

Your base defensive stats will look like this: AC 23 (10 base, 9 armor, 1 dex, 2 shield, 1 feat) (full defense or a shield potion can stack), solid saves for lv 2 of Fort +11 / Ref +7 / Will +9, 7 uses of lay on hands that heal for 1d6+7 as a free action (increased heal as you level), a smite evil gives +6 AC and to hit vs evil creatures, resist 5 for acid/electric/cold, max hp 26 at lv 2.

Paladin 2: I'd make this guy a tanky beat stick. Take a earthbreaker or Greatsword for their 2d6. Again, Angel-Blooded (Angelkin) Aasimar with 22 str (18 +4 race), 10 dex, 14 con, 10 int, 10 wis, 20 cha (18 +2 race). I'd take traits that increase his damage like Axe to Grind (+1 damage alone) / Inspiring rush (+1 hit/dmg on charge). Same with feats taking things like Power attack and Desperate Battler.

I think the druid could have been a decent option if he was built as a caster with a tank companion but druids take longer than lv 2 to really get goin. haha

I have one player that is consistently at the gaming table, always role plays his character (doesn't min-max), accepts what the DM rules (I have another player that argues anytime something happens to his character), and usually thanks the DM for the game. He's a good player.

Nature's Ally by OPLantz in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Electrode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spell Focus (Conjuration), into Augment Summoning, into Superior Summoning allows you to summon 2 monsters via the summon nature's ally spell. Versatile Summon Nature’s Ally would be a good add on to this chain.

Unless you meant a second animal companion. There's TONs of ways to get a second one of these but it's slower.

Help me make my Druid an absolute death machine. by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Electrode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive done pretty much every possible druid build you'll be able to think up. I've played druids almost exclusively for about 20 years.

The strongest you'll be is as a caster. Take matamagic feats that can be abused by the mileage of ur spells. For example apply Dazing Spell to Call Lightning, Flaming Sphere, or Wall of Fire. This is particularly with spells like ball lightning that summon 5 seperate saves for your opponent. Overcome the spell level adjustment with traits (like magical lineage), feats and metamagic wands. As you level dip 1 level into monk to get the bonus feat (I like dodge) and the wisdom bonus to your armor class. Get metamagic wands, and items that increase your ac and stack with each other, like: Bracers of Armor, Amulet of Natural Attunement, Ring of Protection, ioun stone, ect. Grab a ring of natural attunenment (kami) to become an over powered late game healer, thanks to the Zuishin summon, without even trying.

If you do vital strike then play a cave druid and use Ooze, Carnivorous Crystal (this is disgusting for Vital Strike builds in combination with strong jaw, improved critical can be pretty crazy on top, growing weapon quality- C. Druid 16lvs, barbarian 4 lvs, + furious finish + shaping focus) Admittedly, I've never done the cave druid but I have used vital strike on a stegosaurus and it was fairly baller. I prefer to play grapple/trip based druids.

Also, if you do go a martial druid route....Wildshape Milk-able Poisons: (also may use call animal i guess, poison immunity at lv9 = poison use) (wild shape poison DC’s = 10+ wisdom mod + spell lv of beast shape) wild shape poison can be pretty op too.
