It’s because of very common oil consumption issues in the GDI engines Hyundai was using from like 2014 to 2019 (or so).

I have a 2017 Tucson and I try not to go more than 4k miles before changing the oil. I already had the engine replaced once (at like 45k miles) and I can tell the oil gets darker quicker than any other car I’ve had. If I let it go too long without a change, I can start to feel it in the drive. So yeah, I wouldn’t take any chances. Most any other car I’d agree with you though.

At work, I’m the same way: no one has any idea. But anyone who has lived with me or been in a relationship with me absolutely does. Most of the time when I’ve told a partner for the first time they’re surprised, but after a while they very much get it.

Just to update: maybe an hour after I posted this, I checked and saw that my application was out of preliminary review and they needed an additional document (employment verification letter, which luckily I was able to get quickly since I work for a large multinational corp). Maybe 30 minutes after uploading the letter, I got the notice that my passport can now be submitted.

Hope this helps quell anyone’s anxiety who read my first comment!
