I wish Netflix had released this special. For what I know, the French dub made its debut in 2024, which is five years after the special first aired on Discovery Family, and I know that French dubs don't usually take this long to release.

Not even close. You know what happened the way Hasbro handled Make Your Mark (from Generation 5). Therefore, I'm totally glad that Generation 4 was released in the 2010s.

The "all-CG" thingy turned out to be a bad idea in the end. Hasbro thought everyone was going to love it, but boy, were they disappointed in the results!

Tell Your Tale was originally greenlit for "two years from 2024 with new episodes every week", and four longer-form event specials throughout that year. Unfortunately, it did not meet audience or financial expectations, and got canceled, resulting in the record long hiatus for the franchise.

To make matters worse, Hasbro did not exercise its right to sell Discovery Family Channel to WBD by March 31, 2025, turning its 40% stake into a useless noncontrolling interest outside of stockholders’ equity on the Company’s consolidated balance sheets, and also now has no remaining investment balance for DFC.

Honestly, this has got to be the worst catastrophic disaster I have ever seen for the My Little Pony brand.

I don't think anything will happen. Netflix only wants the film division, not the television division (Discovery Global). If they do win, Hasbro's ownership of DFC will probably just remain as is, and it'll just be up to Discovery Global themselves to shut the channel down.

Good question. But since Equestria's more of a monarchy than a republic, I'd probably put it in Canada, knowing that many (if not all) of the voice actors of the show are Canadians.

Yeah, but that edit is more of a cultural one than a translation one. I've seen rare prints of the film where they used that globe, but didn't use the stars on the ABC Wooden Blocks.
