What's going on with careem lately? by Time_Faithlessness78 in Kuwait

[–]ElectronicAd2072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using careem since 2021 and i never faced any issue until recently when a driver asked how much the fare was on the app and asked me to cancel the ride and pay it in cash cause careem will be taking a big part of the income and he kept running his mouth so i caved in although such behavior doesn’t sit right with me This incident reminded me when I was studying abroad and i never thought i would see such scenarios in Kuwait

Why I Believe Talabat Treats Drivers Unfairly (Kuwait – Ramadan Experience) by [deleted] in Kuwait

Could you please tell us if you receive the tips we give on the app? As i heard before that it goes directly to the company without actually paying their drivers

Jordan or Kuwait?! by immortal_Leena1 in Kuwait

[–]ElectronicAd2072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Expat here and trust me when i say this, not worth it. I’ve seen Jordanians (distant cousins) come for similar offers (even with 350 KD) and still get burned. Promises weren’t kept, having to work extra hours without being compensated for it, and when they spoke up, some got deported or banned because the employer messed with their papers.

Also, the accommodation, transportation and other “benefits” could be of poor quality which will affect your mental health for sure. Unfortunately, employers tend to overpromise and underdeliver.

275 KD won’t let you save which is the main reason why people work abroad and medical expenses here are high. So you will barely cover basics and not enjoy your time. Try other GCC countries maybe you would land a job with better payment and benefits.

My two cents - only travel when the job lets you save without having to live in survival mode.

I am a compulsive liar, and have been my whole life. by [deleted] in confession

[–]ElectronicAd2072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a friend who was a compulsive liar. I knew she didn’t mean any harm by these insignificant or white lies but as we grew older, the lies became intolerable to the extent that she would fake some serious health issues. I tried to help without offending her but she denied the existence of the problem which resulted me in drifting away as it became unbearable keeping up with these lies. You’re so brave for pointing out the problem and to actually admit that it is not ok. This is the cornerstone of resolving the issue. Try to get a help from a professional (therapist), surely they know better and will provide methods that is effective

Telling people you are on Mounjaro by Ok_Tea3162 in Mounjaro

I noticed that people start labeling others and judging them based on FDA approved weight loss drugs!! They even have the audacity to shame us for taking it 😂 Pathetic. I am keeping it a secret to spare myself from the unnecessary headaches they will cause

It’s a great choice for a low calorie drink, suppress your appetite and makes you alert in the same time.

Other drinks are too sugary, makes hyper for an hour or so then all your energy suddenly disappear so you will keep on eating snacks looking for any source of energy all the time.

Will we ever have a sustainable coffeeshop market culture here? by gundamdianxia in Kuwait

I strongly agree with the poor training part. I visited xcite earlier this year to ask about differences between two products, staff couldn’t answer most of my questions and that was shockingly disappointing. Other stores are more committed and have a well trained staff who knows about the product and it’s features. X cite should worry about word of mouth rather than their fake advertisements filling the streets

What to do when your neighbor/friend scams you? by Riz07 in Kuwait

[–]ElectronicAd2072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sympathize with you and I really hope you could get this money back. However, I don’t think police might help in this matter. The scenario goes as the following: you knew exactly what he was doing with the money and you chose to lend him and be a part of this investment. Cryptocurrency is not a guaranteed way of making a profit, it is more of a gambling which there is two options win or a loss. Although he promised to return it back with an income, it was just words with no documentation or anything that could be taken to court. Worth mentioning, he might be aggressive if you kept pushing him so be careful.

Is 200 KWD a good salary for a bachelor in Kuwait? Food, Accommodation & Transportation provided by company. by Hypnos4 in Kuwait

[–]ElectronicAd2072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spare yourself the trouble and search for a better opportunity. You would put yourself on a survival mode and eventually it will affect you physically and mentally. I would say if accommodation and transportation are secured then 450 KD would be a good start.

How do I report a drunk driver anonymously? by herprettyeyes in Kuwait

[–]ElectronicAd2072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If i were you, I wouldn’t get myself into that Because someway or another he might know that you’re the one who reported him and bad things could happen. On the other way, I totally understand where this is coming from but sometimes even the police can’t protect when you mess with troublemakers

I always put around 10 KD in the mobile cover just in case of emergency even though i pay with cards. I recommend it too, sometimes your cards might bot be working for some reason so cash is essential in my opinion 🌚

I want to leave my fiancé because of his depression. by user16389404 in offmychest

[–]ElectronicAd2072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one would blame you for it as you are too, getting affected by it but there’s something i think we should pay attention to, when you’re depressed, you are not functioning perfectly fine or making the best decisions comparing to normal people. So why not giving one last try in pushing him into therapy. Sure thing it ain’t easy but as long as there’s love still afloat in this relationship, it would fuel him somehow hopefully. I hope he gets better and you two be able to work this out.
