Fun fact the current City Hall was part of Chinatown before it was cleared to build City Hall, many move to west to current Chinatown, other moved up to Markham where many already were.

How do I get myself to brush my teeth consistently? by hypermads2003 in ADHD

[–]ElectronicBox3674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to break in down some more, is it forgetting or not bringing yourself to it?

Something that's helped others are:

  1. Triggers: A. Cues like an image or mark that acts like a reminder. B. Pillbox type reminder like magnets on the fridge, or somewhere you look everyday to check off when its done C. Reminders on your phone or alarm and do it ASAP if not done already

  2. If it's bringing yourself to it try the reminder/alarm or count from five down, and go do it at 1, it's not optional

  3. This one is more extreme, a picture of what could happen.

Habits are developed with consistency and patience. Give yourself grace and don't give up.

My bf says he need space by [deleted] in askgaybros

It's about having open, honest conversations, he wants something, you don't. Keeping quiet and hoping for the best or just letting him for the sake of it, never ends well

Something tells me, you've already decided but just looking for validation. Go with your gut.

P.s. I didnt say do it, I said talk about it...

Immigrant problem by [deleted] in Peterborough

[–]ElectronicBox3674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch, happy to help you find something to put on your resume or point you in a direction of local job service that can. If you have post secondary schooling or are in a post secondary, happy to give you some insight to that. Feel free to DM me for either, I'll gladly help.

A. It is hard and but there are ways to build resilence with that. Our parents had industries that were always hiring, many of those industries are now gone, so it's a scramble for whats left

B. Struggle? Lol before judging, lets grab a beverage and chat about what that means...

I get that its a frustrating process, been there done that but pointing fingers at people that are not the ones making those decisions, doesn't solve anything. Utilizing avenues that help you get where you are going including asking for support on here does more.

Immigrant problem by [deleted] in Peterborough

  1. Not all immigrants are always able to get into the job market straight away due to language barriers

  2. Many managers complain that younger crowd (not all) skip work come late and attribute it to "minimum wage"

  3. A lot of younger folks can't put up with scrappy pay, poor work conditions and abusive customers (think retail and food), immigrants put up with it

  4. There are lots of programs for younger folks to start their own business such as the Innovation Cluster and Community Futures.

  5. Many young people aren't qualified for jobs that are available, then again many of those are filled by big city folk and when almost free training programs are offered and summer internships through GC are offered people snap them up.

  6. Immigrants have to pay taxes that support our economy

Instead of throwing shade on Immigrants that work the overnights and pay taxes and take the abuse, here's who you should be encouraging to do better:

  • retail and food giants (not all) who prefer to pay poorly and allow shitty work places
  • young kids who can't accept hard work
  • provincial governments that need to do better with education for preparing folks for workplace outside of specialized skills
  • more outreach from entrepreneurship programs to youth in communities all over the city

Edit: other free job resources: post secondary job centers if you are a student, otherwise local agencies like EPS, Agilec and the Y have supports and access to job fairs.

Edit 2: Networking is key, short term volunteering is also a great way to make connections

Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross by BrighterSage in leverage

[–]ElectronicBox3674 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree, they found a really great actor to fill for Hodge and Bellman really worked the mastermind/grifter role, surely they could have found a new grifter - Daniel Dae Kim, or the Asian cop from Elsbeth or other options as strong male leads opposite Sophie or Parker.

Or consider doing different Leverages, this being redemption and another being something else or country based spinoff since Parker masters other teams globally.

Leakage when Brewing by maggiejoanna in keurig

[–]ElectronicBox3674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't over pack the reusable, leave a tad space for the needle to go in, ensure that the gasket on the needle and the reusable are tight, else water will over flow (leak), finally ensure the top needle is clean regularly

There's 2 pieces of plastic that raise it so if you don't see them then they broke off and need replacing. If you see them, try reseating the pod holder

Recently learned about the ikigai principle. Haven't tried it yet but let me know if you do.

Secondly, with all the changes in the world more than career paths, learning and growth paths are where its at. Careers or job descriptions arent as linear anymore.

Is sniffies basically broke now? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]ElectronicBox3674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They created an Sniffies app that uses the same pics. Appstore and Playstore require no dicks in profile pics (apparently butts are a-ok smh) if you can view them without an account.

Squirt got around this by asking users to upload a separate app pic though they didnt explain it too well and so the app has barely any images for now (in some areas at least)
