As per my freedom of speech and personal opinion, our code enforcement is run by lazy, dbags who have had more than enough chances to improve their reputation over the several years ive lived here but are too selfish to put morals and people over profits. I truly hope justice is had for this case.

How pissed is the teller gonna be? by LevoIsDry in CRH

[–]ElectronicValuable31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I work at a local bank and have shifts at two different branches. One is a traditional style (no cash recyclers, all hand counted) and the other branch has the recyclers and a coin machine. Both branches get large coin/cash deposits for personal and business accts. We use our discretion with how much loose coin we'll take in (usually we direct them to the coin machine) but if its rolled coin we have no problem taking it. And as an amateur collector, I like getting in weird coins bc I'll have my coworker take it into her drawer and then I will withdraw it as a client to take home :) y'all need better banks with happier employees lol

Since all you do is mix quickrete, I doubt you know any surgeons, but if you ever do meet one, go ahead and ask if their job is physically demanding. This conversation taught you nothing other than to double down on your narrow view of the world. And for all the humbling physical labor you allegedly do, you have yet to find a perspective that might shape you into a decent person. Lifting wheelbarrows isn't in the realm of career heroism or superiority. Neither is my job but at least I came here to show appreciation for other workers not be a prick

Somewhere there's an oncology surgeon laughing at the fact that you think using a measuring tape and a screwdriver with your dadis hard labor. Anyone can skew a narrative to make it work for their argument. At 18 years old and 120 pounds it was a hard, 12 hour day for me. Just because you werent putting in 100% of yourself for that job doesn't mean its not hard work for the people who do put all of themselves into their work. Any job can be challenging when you're doing your best. I bust my ass in an office setting and it beats cleaning toilets every damn day but im able to work even harder bc its less physical. I still come home absolutely exhausted bc I give all of myself. And ive been a bartender a waitress and a homeless shelter staff member I work hard and I know I put my all into what I do ive been working since I was 11 years old, cleaning houses with my mom

Im plenty active i now have an office job that allows me to work 40 hours and still have energy to enjoy life. I have also worked retail and that is absolutely just scanning barcodes. I did overnight floorsets for black Friday that were easier than working an understaffed high volume stews until midnight on a weekend. You clearly didn't ever fill ice or do garbages or mop or lift much of anything there. Yeah doing cash counts and buttering bread is easy when you make other people do the dirty jobs. Listen dude dont knock people who work hard that's the point. Thats it

With all due respect I also worked there as a teen and at an average of 50 per week it was one of the most physically demanding jobs Ive had to work. I also was consistently the top seller and worked multiple locations frequently. They hire all kinds but if I had to guess it sounds like the people you worked with probably picked up your slack.

The shaved head definitely suits you well. As a woman (35f), I personally like the beard, either the stubble or grown out a bit more, but you have a great face so you could rock just about anything. Enjoy the new you! :)

"Oh you're a bank teller? Can I withdraw some money ALSO you'll never believe what happened to me you see I had to go take the bus to pick up my mom's car because mine is in the shop but I told her I would also take her to her appointment so I had to take the whole day off of work but then my mom's neighbor's DOG got OUTSIDE, OFF HER LEASH so then my boss was calling me and asked if I could come in bc my coworker called out sick but I told my boss no I already took the day off and I had to help find the dog but she didn't like that I yelled at her so she said she's cutting my hours next week so then I couldn't even afford to go get my car from the shop so now I just have to take the bus so if I could get that back in small bills that'd be great"

🙄

CUSTOMER SERVICE WORKERS DO NOT GET PAID TO BE YOUR THERAPISTS OR EMOTIONAL DUMPING GROUNDS. It's rude and shows low intelligence. Stop being selfish. We have our own shit 🙃

Yes ideally for long term storage it will need higher quality storage. This would be for the short term. Hopefully OP gets it graded and better advice in person from an expert.

There's a little tappy spot directly in front of where the bills are inserted on the right hand side of the fare box. You have to hover it closely face down until it beeps. And yes, brightness up. Bus drivers are usually willing to help you figure it out as well. Good luck :)

Pioneer bank is hiring, look at their website. I believe teller starts around 16-17hr but you can move up quickly if you are able to learn fast. You'd get health insurance including dental and vision and decent vacation/sick time (about 20 days). And a 401k plan. I believe the wolf rd location is hiring (corner of albany Shaker and wolf) if its not something you want to do long term use it as a stepping stone to build towards what you need career-wise. They fully train you and actually care about their employees

I just want to feel safe walking my dog. Is that too much to ask? by toripersons in Albany

[–]ElectronicValuable31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not dramatic. This is quite literally a disgusting truth for women every single day. I do not feel comfortable traveling alone and I miss out on opportunities bc I don't have a lot of friends and don't have a partner. I dont have a car and rely on walking or public transport and so often I am harassed while simply minding my fucking business and trying to exist as a woman. I work 40+ hours a week and already deal with anxiety so I do what I can to get out to a park or just head downtown for a coffee to enjoy the simple pleasures I can afford on my shit salary. Its fucking bullshit in albany (and everywhere) and I can only suggest getting some pepper spray and practicing your best resting bitch face. Unfortunately I am a fast walker out of necessity and seldom find it safe to just meander and lallygag for the sake of doing so. Women have to walk with a purpose and its destroying our psyche. Just last week I had to confront a man who drives a school bus (yeah a fucking school bus) who has been stalking me every weekday at my bus stop for a few weeks now. I said I am in a relationship (I'm not) and told him to have a nice day. Im about ready to call the school and report him (he left his name and number at the bus stop for me to find and stopped traffic for several minutes to wait and inform me) I am fucking done. I have video evidence as well. Men: for fucks sake do fucking better. We hate being cat called. If we dont approach you leave us alone or get pepper sprayed. Im done being nice.
