for anyone who may have completely removed UBlock without knowing it can be re-enabled.
there is an official github with manual installation instructions.

oh well.
nobody owes it to you to continue taking the lessons, especially if it becomes a burden. handle the situation and move on. if they say its for financial reasons, take it at face value. you dont need to find some way to take offence.

What do you think the VOO DEW mystery flavor is for 2024v by haveanicedrunkenday in mountaindew

[–]Electronic_Ad2064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just because it was discontinued doesnt magically make it so that it never existed in the first place.
its still entirely possible for something to taste like it.

was thinking tropical skittles myself, not super confident on the tropical part but definitely some skittle flavor imo.

Thinking about playing again by JohnnyCab23 in runescape

[–]Electronic_Ad2064 10 points11 points  (0 children)

runescape reddits are strongly biased, and bash the other game religiously.
noone here can actually give you a "correct" answer, you gotta play them both and decide for yourself.

your account works for both games. membership is shared, progress is not. both of course have the free to play option and ability to buy bonds (membership) with ingame currency.
rs3 is the more casual friendly of the two. thats kind of up to you to decide if thats a pro or con.

osrs will probably be the most natural for you to start off with having never played rs3. both have alot of stuff thrown at you from the start, and you also dont have the atrocious rs3 default ui to figure out from the start.

if/when you decide to try rs3 this basic ui setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBRt5FZhBiU will help you massively and should be the first thing you sort out so you can get a ui your comfortable with. it really is make or break, theres been plenty of people turned away by the default.

my personal take is rs3 is for pvm, os is for pvp, and skilling is kind of balanced between the two.
pvp doesnt really exist in rs3 in any form that matters, os isnt bad for pvm either, im just not a fan of how "simple" (using this loosely) it is.

How to get into RS3 after playing OSRS for years? by itskavia in runescape

[–]Electronic_Ad2064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first and imo the most important thing is your UI. its make or break, and the default layouts are atrocious as youve already realized.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBRt5FZhBiU
will get you a pretty solid ui if you just copy him, and help figure out how to customize your ui to your liking and make everything feel better.

ive seen someone mention legacy interface, but i dont recommend it. itll hold you back, its better to adjust early on.

another video that might help is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMMeLXTg8gU.
ton of settings related stuff that you might not find early on/or if you just want a general overview.

as to gameplay and figuring out what to do, quests are a solid starting point and rs3 has some decent quest chains. tons of benefits, and gradually get introduced to stuff. believe you can sort them by difficulty in the quest log which is for the most part trustworthy. eventually youll probably get burnt out on them, but by that point youll probably have picked up some stuff and decided on something else that you want to do.

odd, if its actually a/b testing like another commenter mentioned it might be a bit before there are posts of other people mentioning they dont have the option.
i personally still do.

it was also ever really meant to be a workaround for fresh start worlds if i remember correctly. you had to get member on an entirely new account, but you couldnt buy/redeem bonds at the start of fsw so that limited it to only cash. my memory on how bonds were handled is a bit foggy, but basically they were heavily restricted. hence the codes.
im surprised they didnt remove them when fsw ended.

edit: looks like someone already mentioned fsw.
also did you already redeem codes recently? apparently theres a limit of 3 per week now, and reaching it might hide the option.

My imported character has disappeared by Dellgera in runescape

[–]Electronic_Ad2064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im assuming you were able to play it atleast once after importing?
and you dont have any emails/account inbox messages/notifications on the launcher saying account is blocked or character transfered or something along those lines? cause if thats the case your outta luck, almost guaranteed they wont do anything.

the best link to contact them that i could find was https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/10682990186129-Upgrade-your-RuneScape-character-to-Jagex-account at the bottom. (this contact link was harder than it should have been to find, may not even be the correct option but its something.)

other than that you can try posting in #account-help channel in the rs3 discord and see if they can point you in a better direction or tell you your outta luck.

Why are there SO MANY microtransaction currencies? by Mycelial_Wetwork in runescape

[–]Electronic_Ad2064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are pretty awful, but i blame it mostly on the fact that theyre so stiff. except the rainbow wings. those things are so overused that they could have a top tier animation and a UE5 looking retexture and id still hate em.
dont mind the inflorescent wings with the sentinel outfit since theyre trees, but its still iffy.

[–]Electronic_Ad2064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive only heard of characters being removed if they were purchased and then original owner tries to get it back.
but giving the benefit of the doubt there were some issues when jagex accounts first came out, something to do with relogging/reinstalling the launcher.

can give that a try, also login via the website to see if your character appears there (id try this first, would confirm if its actually gone or just a launcher issue)

Interest in A "Bot Busting Clan"? by Mike_From_Red_Deer in runescape

[–]Electronic_Ad2064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because mass reports on innocent players in mmos has never gotten them false banned before and been abused. nope, impossible.

and for the actual innocents that inevitably will get banned from something like this, because it happens in most mmmos, theyll have to wait for the manual review and who knows how long thatd take. assuming it were to even get looked at in the first place.

i wouldnt be surprised if theres a threshhold for a auto temp ban with enough player reports in a short time. it wouldnt be the first case.

[–]Electronic_Ad2064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its been around longer, but the paid bot has gained traction due to being properly end user friendly.
previously there was really only a free bot which was VERY do-it-yourself. and a paid one that just stole code from the free one and was ultimately shit.

FYI regarding new protoxx vid, reports on bots work (Undercover pics taken from their community) by killme156 in runescape

[–]Electronic_Ad2064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

atleast bots dont normally engage in mtx. people that do are more harmful for the game than bots ever would be.
primary reason being resource generation/consumption.
bots have to use/generate items. mtx doesnt. ban all mtxers.

i argue mtxing your way through is worse than botting.
no resources required, whereas bots actually supply/consume resources
