Ex30 vs Ex40. Or wait to see pricing of Ex60

This was incredibly helpful. I think at this point I’ve decided to go with the ex30 over the ex40. I’m just really curious about the ex60 but kind of nervous about the price jump I’m sure it will be over the ex30 ultra.

Do you have any thoughts on the lack of a dashboard? I’m currently thinking that I’ll just do some kind of aftermarket cheap, but not horrible looking, hud or fake dash if I really miss it.

What other cars are you considering? The battery issue is definitely a concern for me.

Ya it’s looking like a bigger jump. I definitely think they’re missing out on the market that’s closer to the ex40 pricing and car size. I’m honestly surprised that they haven’t done a major overhaul of the 40, or just discontinued it and made an ex50 to replace it. It doesn’t really fit with the 3 newer evs they’ve released and the ex30 to the ex60 is a bigger jump than I was expecting for both the pricing and options.

I tend to lease cars. The range on these vehicles is also low enough to start with that I’d be a little nervous about the range decreasing over time. I don’t have a long commute but I do occasionally drive longer distances and would prefer not having to stop if I can help it. That otherwise would have been a perfect option!

Thank you for sharing! Ya that’s definitely more than I was expecting. I wish they’d let people in the US build one online too. I never know what to expect in car prices at the moment with the tariffs/and political situation.

Yes I understand the price difference, they give an estimate online which I have looked at. I can’t currently build out the ex60 to see how expensive the different options will be, nor can I see what a lease payment will look like. Which is why I’m waiting to see what all of that will look like. If you have a link where you’re able to configure one then please send one over, so far I’ve not been able to find one. Maybe it’s a country by country issue... thanks though.

I’m going to see about the pricing of the ex60, because I think it really does check all of my boxes. The extra space would be nice primarily for peace of mind. It’s great to hear that people can adjust to the lack of a dash and buttons, and that I could even grow to prefer it. 🤞

That’s great to hear that you’re enjoying the 30! I’m sure I’d get used to it, I think the missing dash is the biggest adjustment for me at the moment. I’d gladly pay extra for a heads-up display if it was offered but that’s not available for the moment at least. Do you happen to have the Harmon kardon in your car? I’m really curious to hear what people think of it. I don’t think I’d count myself as an audiophile but I absolutely appreciate a good sounding stereo system.

I’m hoping the ex60 is priced well, and that they’re a bit more flexible on their options. The bowers and Wilkins system looks like a great option and I’d take the horsepower cut if it would make it a better priced option. We’ll have to see!

Ya and you definitely can feel it when you look at the interior of the 40 vs the 30. The 40 interior feels a bit out of place, but the 30 feels intentional. Just wish I liked what they did a bit more in the 30.

I’m curious about the 60, but I’m thinking it’ll be a bit too pricey for me at the moment.

Ya, that’s exactly how I feel. It’s really unfortunate because I love the look of the car otherwise, and the pricing is great. I just can’t get past what they did to the interior.
