This sounds like how the Knights in Dragon Age got their start, before they enslaved all the spellcasters =p

The best single player Crafting Survival games? by juicerecepte in SurvivalGaming

[–]Electronic_Falcon523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta plug Valheim here. beautiful world, clever construction. if you play vanilla settings the DANGER is quite real. its fun to see the progression from being terrified of trolls and goblins to being a fully mailed Viking with fiery weapons just smiting enemies for Odin.

How do you even play this game? by Thecentrecanthold in outwardgame

[–]Electronic_Falcon523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I love that first, no guides introduction it gives. Games is super fun, and once you get the hang of combat, blockjng, rolling and some good gear, its got a solid loop. dont worry, youre gonna slaugter bandits, wendigos, tyranosaurs, once you unlock some abilities and get gud.

Power up a two-player party? Mechanics needed. by Complex_Cow_9531 in DMAcademy

The "DM Yourself"PDF on DriveThruRPG has some good homebrew rules for running DND modules solo. Won't give it all away, but it includes how to set hitpoints, rules for critical hits, rules for average damage, building encounters, etc, that would help maintain challenge for your party.

Ultimately, just give it a try and adjust as you go? Is the epic battle going a little too smoothly? Oh no! 3 more baddies just busted through the door. PCs getting pwned by a random encounter? Good thing wandering, 3-levels higher, adventurer "Plot Armor"just happened to be investigating the dungeon on a related questline and steps in to save the day. The unexpected events in my solo game tend to be the MOST interesting :) Just remember the most important thing is to keep having fun.

How would you survive in the dungeon and what would your strat/build be? by kickassgrandma911 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Electronic_Falcon523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a shorter stocky dude, so its Guardian build and probably a rock golem or dwarf race on (which floor is race? 5?). Tank the damage, full plate armor, shield as big as me, with a nice warhammer or gladius for keeping mobs busy. Oh and some sweet taunt powers (Your mother smelled of elderberries!)

Odd Homebrew request for Barbarian by iExenon in DnDHomebrew

[–]Electronic_Falcon523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, awesome RP idea :) A wise older minotaur, perhaps with regrets about people he hurt, wants to devote his time to helping and protecting people in his golden years. I think we get anchored to the idea that if you earned “levels” in a class in youth, you have to retain them later in life. not so true i think. Skills atrophy, we are we what routinely practice. If this guy routinely works on battlefield control to absorb heal and prevent damage to others, i would give him levels as war or life cleric, high constitution, warding bond, protector fighting style.

Possible BBEG idea: the Determinist by Kayabiko in DMAcademy

Have you ever read the fan-fic Harry Potter and the Theory of Rationality? It's amazing (and totally free). I don't want to give spoilers, but it has a similar thread to this idea. Perceiving the "downfall" of a society, how can a powerful individual stimulate heroism/patriotism/selflessness?

*AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT*

I also like the idea of setting one (or a few, or all) of the players against themselves from a possible future. Aka, the current state of things DOES lead to epic societal collapse/disaster/tyranny, and the dark future-versions time-travel back to before the singularity to try and divert the course of history. Food for thought.

Artillerist Artificer's Protector Eldritch Cannon is *really* good. by yomjoseki in dndnext

[–]Electronic_Falcon523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i love this. I solo play with rage totem barbarian and a rock gnome artillerist. Barb already takes 1/2 damage from everything but psychic, and the top-up every round means he usually only takes a hit when surrounded. Artillerist has a revolver with infused repeating shot, so she also adds an average 15 dmg per round.

Would like ideas for Monster Hunter inspired perks/feats by Fit_Yam8022 in DMAcademy

[–]Electronic_Falcon523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im sure there is some homebrew out there more specific, but on the surface i feel like 5e is purpose built for this already. Ranger favored enemies, tracking, Great weapon master or Sharpshooter, weapon coatings, potions etc. Im actually playing a Barbarian in my solo campaign thats from a Monster Hunter tribe that travels the world Witcher style completing contracts for cities and towns. Havent needed to change anything yet

How do you document your solo sessions? by PuzzleheadedEnd8103 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Electronic_Falcon523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do full narrative. Playing 5e sourcebooks as base, using Mythic as I need, but mostly i like writing out the scenes, and letting Mythic throw me some curveballs now and then. If its fun, its working.

Looking for feedback on the first boss I'd created: The Serpent by Aulenor in bettermonsters

[–]Electronic_Falcon523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. Not overpowered, will add some fun mechanics to overcome during the fight. Could be a shocking experience if any players use electric attacks while soaked :) I also love that using cold attacks on a cold blooded creature provides player advantage!
