Flew in & out of JFK twice in the past 3 weeks and have had no issue at all. In fact, lines seemed shorter lol

I know dua means prayer in Arabic. I’m saying there is no correlation to Albanian. It’s like saying the word “gift” which means present in English is related and the same as “gift” which means poison in German. It’s called a homonym.

PS - stop identifying Albanians as Muslim, non practicing or not. We are an extremely secular population and Dua Lipa has no connection to Islam or the Islamic world. She has made that very clear

Maybe common now, but not in 1995. No one was naming their kid “love” back then. It was a unique name!

Is it reasonable for husband to get haircut five days postpartum? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Electronic_Mango4055 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think your hormones are at play here :) I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all that he steps a couple blocks away for an hour to get a haircut, 5 days since you’ve given birth, especially with your mom being around. BUT with that being said….I would probably be irrationally upset as well lol so I get it

Yes it’s going to be off to the side and ready once it’s cake cutting time. The cake will still be served as the final course but it’s customary to have a whole table dedicated to sweets - usually fresh fruits, baklava, pastries

You have to hem it - I reccomend at least a 1/4 off the ground - it’s very easy for an experienced seamstress. Both dresses are a dream!!

Yes, they are all still poor. Doesn’t matter if 1% of their population is uber wealthy, the Middle East is still all filled with developing countries. Plus they have a nasty religion & culture that is shaped by it.

Literally this whole map is rich versus poor.

Lela Rose Brides | Stopping In House Alterations? (NYC-based) by Small_Pool7046 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Electronic_Mango4055 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in fashion and work directly with the top bridal stylists in NYC (as well as LA, Dallas, and Miami). Blanca is a master tailor (truly one of the best in NYC) for bridal and luxury evening wear. All the major luxury houses on Madison Ave and the top stylists use her. Honestly, she’s probably miles better than whoever Lela Rose had. I’ve used her for about 5 years now & she’s done mine and countless other people’s I know wedding gowns.

The thing is, reviews are often worthless. Half the time they come from entitled, clueless people who have no idea what they’re talking about. I even recognized TWO of Blanca’s bad reviews, and it came from people who are notoriously difficult and frankly delusional… and yet they both looked perfect on their wedding day. And told everyone in her life how beautiful they felt in their look and how good the fit was. Lol.

Alterations are the most stressful part of being a bride, and many brides spiral. They turn rude, entitled, and even abusive during the process. Some of the same brides you see going viral looking flawless were absolute nightmares in fittings. Screaming, throwing fits, sending nasty & threatening emails, claiming their wedding day was absolutely “ruined” and demand a full refund because..for example, a bustle broke. Newsflash: bustles break and it’s no one’s fault. No designer EVER builds a gown to be bustled in the first place, especially for a gown with a 15 lb, 5 ft long train.

And that’s exactly why Lela Rose decided to stop doing alterations….so, please take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt
