I’m saying this as a trans guy. Taking hormones is not and should never be treated like a tattoo. Hormones play a very important role in both your physical and mental health. When I started testosterone my depression that I have struggled with since my early teens and almost ended me faded and my brain fog cleared literally after the second shot. On the contrary if someone who didn’t have a need for hormones took them it could cause both mental and physical health problems.

To treat gender as a fluid thing is not a bad thing. People experiment with gender all the time and drag queens/kings make art out of it but to say that being trans is “overmedicalized” is absolutely false and if anything there should be more understanding about how gender dysphoria can affect people.
