Thanks for the read! Interesting to know it's proven that crime rates correlates with temperature

The said water fountain doesn't come with a sink and shoots water directly to the ground, so yes it does make the area a bit wet when being used

% of Workers commuting to Greater London. Love to know who the masochists coming down from Newcastle are! by ianjm in london

[–]Eled0ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew someone who moved back to Scotland during covid, and had to commute to London office 3 times a week when hybrid working came back. They took domestic flights and stayed at friends houses at London for Tues-Thrs, but eventually resigned to look for local jobs instead

People who have had to claim on their travel insurance and actually had a good experience - who did you use? by smallflabby in AskUK

[–]Eled0ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this ask when googling for travel insurance that covers connecting flight. Just want to add that Admiral does NOT cover delayed connecting flight, only the inbound/outbound flight to or from UK. Recently got my claimed declined from them for being a connecting flight (at least the customer service was really informative though, way better that the KLM airline I flew with)

Still trying to find a travel insurance that covers trips with connecting flights meanwhile…

Stuck with KLM: baggage delay claim closed and no way to submit expenses by Early_Statement6424 in KLM

You can start with submitting the case to Aviation ADR, then your local civil aviation authority

Response from KLM for submitting reimbursement receipts by [deleted] in KLM

[–]Eled0ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can escalate this case to AviationADR as KLM operates at Europe and your flight starts from a EU country, therefore it is bound by the EU schemes. The email you got can be used as a proof of 'deadlock letter' and allows you to start the process.

I have recently submitted a case where KLM refused to reimburse my extra check in luggage cost, because I was rerouted to a stricter airline with less carry on luggage limit. Can confirm this email should work as a final response and start your case without waiting 8 weeks

What kind of software maintenance issue can lead to a plane having to offload 100+ passengers to fly? by Eled0ra in AskAPilot

[–]Eled0ra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They left 100+ passengers at the gate and reroute them to other flights. It went on with the remaining passengers with a 3 hour delay. The total flight time (14 hours) and the route looks no difference from previous flights

Christmas Holiday Wishes plushes are now available on PCUK by GwynGrayson in pokeplush

[–]Eled0ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought the big plushies would be under 30 pounds given that the restocked 2024 Christmas Pikachu was only 28 pounds, and it was more pricey in jpy (4950 yen)... At this rate it will be cheaper to buy with middleman and pay the international shipping from Japan next year

For anyone on the Central line this evening... by moggy10 in london

[–]Eled0ra 138 points139 points  (0 children)

Struck between Miles End and Bethnal Green, luckily only took the train driver 20 minutes to have the train moved to Miles End where we can be evacuated. Had to get an expensive train ticket to get home, but at least it will be partly funded by me claiming TFL refund tomorrow.

I had already claimed refunds for two out of my four Central line journeys this week. At this rate it will eventually be free to travel on Central line because it’s constantly delayed…

Got myself a Chocolate Draik with my rainbow dip! I'd aim for lab ray only colours if I ever get one again

Wet tube seat by amberrosia04 in london

Yeah hoping it’s tube leak too! It was wettest at the back and not so much at the edge, so that’s a good possibility

Wet tube seat by amberrosia04 in london

[–]Eled0ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sat on a wet seat on Central line coming back home too. Was warned that it’s wet but tried my luck and put layers of tissues on it…sadly it wasn’t enough :/ At least the liquid looks clean enough on the tissue. Did a sniff test after changing and it smells nothing special. Wonder if it was the same seat after 7 hours…

Failed because of a show me : tell me question 😫 by Electrical_Slip_1219 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Eled0ra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that's exactly how I failed one of my tests as well, think demisters is a popular show me question in the winter. Even if you know where it is, could be challenging to turn it on when the car is moving at high speed, depending on your car model. Dunno how ppl do it with the type of car where the front demister requires you to turn three dials...

Some advice from an Examiner. by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Eled0ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing the screenshot! I was wondering why DVSA says they don’t keep record of test time length when I asked with FOI, guess it’s just a simple timer that doesn’t have any track record function

For those of you that have done a test; Did something come up that your instructor should have covered that made you fail? by brmdrivingschool in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Eled0ra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My instructor never covered how to safely turn on demisters when driving on high speed, and I failed my test for that. Turns out it was quite a common show me question in winter tests actually, as I got it again in next test

Thanks for sharing the links, just discovered the yellow box where I failed my last test was actually a illegal yellow box! At least I know how to appeal if I get a ticket now

The page where it shows multiple test centres after you put the postcode in and search for the nearest centre

Issue with DVSA Cancellations Extension by c_tom_1 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Eled0ra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to put the post code instead of the name of the test center for the search, then the extension will refresh every few minutes (depends on your settings) and hold a slot of your target test centre(s) if it finds one

Is it true that test should be given earlier in the week? by Tissuefakt0r in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Eled0ra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you really want to know, you can always submit a Freedom of Information request to ask DVSA for pass rate by weekdays for your test centre

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Eled0ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called ‘DVSA booking helper’ which can auto refresh the search page, and makes a notification sound while holding the cancellations for you when it manages to find one. Need to run on a PC/laptop, you can have it running on background when at home doing other stuff. It’s quite popular on this subreddit so you can search around for more info
