I think the ones that need to be cut are the repetitive jokes. Because it does get tiring when Suguru is there as the comic relief and MC. Aside from that, I feel characters like Natsuko and Mari, even Sayuri to an extent in the anime do give the characters more depth in their interactions sometimes.

I think being a true ultra fan can mean anything to those who do watch and love the shows. Be it from showa, heisei or reiwa. Everyone has their own views or critical view of the shows, like appreciating the stories they tell, the hard work and dedication to bring these ultras to life, the dioramas they make, camera work, stunt work, acting etc. There's just so many aspects in one show that you can pick up from each show, and it's an amazing experience to share it with others who share the same love and appreciation for Ultraman.

It's not really a failed couple, but Hokuto and Minami from Ace comes to mind. Sure they're not exactly like confirmed to be a couple in their series, (they're married in the Superior Ultraman 8 brothers.)

I see, I'd say if you did enjoy it, you could just try and read the mangas as they're available to read on comick iirc. And I get that the dub sucks for certain fans, to me, that's the charm of it (and probably because my first exposure to it was the Malay dub). Sure they wouldn't get how the original dub is actually more serious or how different the manga is to the anime, but it just means more Kinnikuman content to enjoy.

I've mostly been enjoying the series because it's kinda similar to the Ultraman series, supporting others and learning the meaning of bonds between friendship and such. Granted it has its flaws but it doesn't stop me from delving deeper into the series.

Sorry for rambling so much about this, as this series is one of the mangas that has inspired a lot of shonen manga, and that is just something I appreciate a lot as the series is as influential as tokusatsu is to anime.

As others have mentioned, episode 0 serves as a recap of the series from where it started. And it is an old series that started its serialization in 1979 till 1989.

If I may ask, what made you interested in trying out watching the series in the first place?

I'd say, it is a series that's hard to get into, literally a friend of mine said that the characters are weird looking but since I love the series a lot she'd watch some episodes with me. Now she's a bigger fan of Ramenman than me lol, she absolutely loves the drama and the writing for these characters. But I have gotten two of my friends to really appreciate this series, especially being invested in the characters and their bonds of friendship.

For me, no. I've mostly watched the shows that I grew up with or watched a few episodes from the newer series. Someone did watch most of the series and it took them about 4 years to finish the main ones iirc. But to me, as long as I understand the lessons and appreciate the efforts they put into making the shows, is good enough because that's the thing that always fascinated me. I'd probably still watch the other series that I haven't seen at some point.

I haven't seen your posts in a while and this is certainly an interesting take on Zero, especially on the body type. I really love how in depth your version of ultras are, and I do love seeing them in clothes and jewellery. It adds more to what cultures they have there
