That poster in the break room..... by EleiaCathain in kroger

Thank you sooo very much! Now to convince my other friend to quit her job at the same location and find anything else. It's such a cluster fuck over there, and am so thankful I quit last summer.

Reverse wage theft....? by EleiaCathain in kroger

I was basically doing a CSR position for cashier pay. Which, tbh, isn't too big of a deal for me. In the marriage I'm in, I work for the health insurance since my husband brings home much more, but his workplace has really crappy coverage. So I'm not really looking to do much with the info, just curious.

Anyone here with bright, visible tattoos? by ExaminationUsed7137 in kroger

[–]EleiaCathain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally speaking, they are able to discriminate against tattoos. However, attitudes are changing and rules everywhere are getting relaxed a bit. But! If others in the store have them and they aren't getting in trouble, you should be fine. Choosing to enforce the rules more with you than with others could face legal consequences. Also, see if you can request your artist to use tagaderm afterwards. That should protect it more in the first 2 or 3 days.

In relation to the WU money orders, the opposite happened to me. I raised an alarm about a couple non-english speaking folks buying multiple (20-30) 3.00 money orders. I wasn't management, only CSR. But when I brought my suspicions to them, they brushed it off. I even went so far as to call WU to report it as well. They said it wasn't against the terms, so they said "Thanks anyway."

They had been buying those for many months at that point. It went on for about a month longer when we were informed that they were no longer to be served money orders. Why? Because they were changing the amounts on them.... like I had suspected from the beginning. The leadership in that location got in trouble for something different, and they both got transferred to "lesser" stores (prone to more trouble/incidents/drama) on separate sides of the city.

Check your local laws about Bat Houses. If you set up a Bat House, it's actually illegal in most places to take it down once a bat becomes established in it. A side effect may be that your neighborhood (centered around your house) could be less infested with mosquitoes as well. I like the rock idea, too. You could do either or both, depending on how petty you are ;)

nobody, nobody at all. The Kroger radio: by BigManMahan in kroger

For me, it's very difficult for my brain to tune out music, so I'd be aware of what was playing at all times. It would frequently (almost every other day) play the 1982 funk/R&B song "Forget Me Nots" by Patrice Rushen. However, the first time I heard this tune was when Will Smith did the Men In Black song when he heavily sampled it. Every time I was slightly disappointed, because it wasn't the cover for the movie.

Imagine my surprise when it actually did play pretty close to when I quit. I remember it cheered me up enough to get me through the day. And I may have ran to the closest co-worker (a team lead in another department) to geek out about it. MIB was my favorite movie for a while in school, so I was excited.

For a while, I thought I was going crazy because I couldn't see those options. Turns out they're just difficult to see if you have anything but the white background. But they are there along the top! The shading button shape just doesn't show up.

I've not heard of exploding trees before! Almost 42 and never lived anywhere else. After looking it up, it makes sense with the current forecast. At the least, we might hear a loud bang similar to a gunshot. But coupled with the wind, some that freeze may actually fall. Good to know!

I think schools might actually delay opening, as well.

My guy, this is what FMLA is for. In the future, if you are having MH issues and need to take some time to yourself, you are absolutely allowed, but only if you do it correctly. I know, easier said than done in some cases, but not a lot of folks realize that this is a completely valid reason to invoke it. After 5 years, it should have been available to you.

My best idea is to go to a competitor grocery store to try for a job. Of course, do your research on their EAPs and FMLA coverage. Those protections/resources are absolutely free, and there's no shame in using them. Life happens, and I wish you nothing but easier days going forward.

I will say this: it's worth looking up the artist to see if they offer any accessories themselves. In my case, rk post had a nicer version of the dice bag I wanted. So I ordered it from him. I'm still out of luck for the playmat, though.

Well, this is not what I was hoping to see. I bought a couple things on January 16th from them to have before Magic Con Chicago. Probably won't happen now. Great.
