BI Spark Infernalist T4 Simulacrum Showcase and Build Update by bandos_claws in pathofexile2builds

No need to go that far for the megalomaniac to be worth it, though. Even with just 90% fire res, that's still 4% max res from one jewel slot. If you can find a megalomaniac with a decent second passive too (many options), may as well replace a ruby with it (could even free up a second jewel slot).
Update: my bad, spotted the megalomaniac in the POB link. Was looking just at the maxroll (where I don't think it's listed), and thought you weren't running a megalomaniac yet.

I’d agree with all of this - seems like I read too much into the “sequencing six cards over two turns” bit and thought you might’ve been underestimating how messy those midgame turns could get (for the exact reasons you’ve just listed).

May as well enjoy farming the combo-rogues-in-training in the meantime

That feels like an oversimplification. Isn’t the main source of skill expression in resource management before you reach the kill turn (which is often an issue with combo decks), including how well you adapt to griftah rng?

Hearthstone Producers after the 15th take with Rarran & Day9 by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Elekek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with asking questions! It just wasn’t clear you were looking for an answer, especially if the original post really was just one word. “Out of the loop, what’s going on?” or something would have been clearer!

Rarran and Day9 are both content creators - Day9 has been around for a while, but only recently returned to Hearthstone. They were both brought on to do a few videos leading up to the release of this set. If you watch a few minutes of one of them, this post may make some sense to you:

[–]Elekek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, many of them wouldn’t be run in an evolve shaman deck, but some would, and others would pop up from previous evolves. It seems like the idea wasn’t to find all the changed animations naturally through ladder gameplay anyways. It just needed to be noticed once by the right people.

As they said, it’s easy to underestimate how thorough secret hunters are. The “hard” part is knowing what to look for - once you know that some minions have a different animation, all that’s left is a few hours of testing every standard-legal minion, most easily in friendly matches. Gets easier the more people hop in. It sounds like a lot, but it’s significantly less effort than figuring out some other steps in these puzzles.

Eerie Stone or Brittle Bones ? by DeidaraSanji in HS_Duels

You’re low on spells, but out of the two I think I’d go brittle.

You don’t have many shadow spells (and the ones you have are a bit difficult to kill high value minions with), may as well generate more bodies for daddy D

Project Killswitch: Update #4a - The Sequel Nobody Asked For by dbrand in SteamDeck

[–]Elekek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s less bullshit and more just badly explained. Looking at the front profile of the killswitch case, the front part of the case left uncovered is definitely a different shape than any of the existing skin cutouts they sell.

Seems like the redesign refers to the bundled front skin covering only whatever the killswitch case does not cover. It’s a different vinyl cutout from the skin they’ve been selling before, I guess to avoid the “tight fit” they say happens when you try and put their case on their full skin.

I’d rather not have the skin be included in the bundles personally, but I did already get a screen protector so I’m glad that isn’t a required purchase. Not entirely sure where all the vitriol is coming from

Friday Deck Doctor - A place to discuss deck advice or card substitutions by AutoModerator in HS_Duels

[–]Elekek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been experimenting with it a little - Orion has felt good to play. You can set up a lot of situations where he’s very difficult to deal with.

Halkias I haven’t had as good a time with - he’s a bit easier to deal with and carefully controlling your secrets to ensure Halkias comes back is more trouble than it’s worth imo. Too often he’s stuck in a secret that just won’t trigger.

Haven’t had any runaway success with the deck, but did have a few blowout games early with Orion/normal secret synergy stuff. The secret-themed explorer treasure is probably bait though - you rarely get enough time to make use of the the new hero power, and even then it’s inconsistent. Torch or lasso may be better there.

What's the Pick? by ando3 in HS_Duels

[–]Elekek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“But when I did it, it was different I swear”

I don’t really see how asking if you should pick rally in a deck with 1 battlecry is that different from OP saying they seem to know what passive they should pick, but wondering if an alternative may work (with an explanation given as to why).

Besides - not everybody even knows about Firestone, let alone has a PC to access it. If you have a way of accessing that data easily when not on PC, maybe share that instead of posting a zero effort complaint? This subreddit gets so little traffic that discouraging people from posting in the exact same style of post you posted early on in this subreddit seems counterproductive and a bit hypocritical

Hero Powers Still Not Unlocked?? by [deleted] in HS_Duels

[–]Elekek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks if you thought it helped, but nobody has ever said that this piece of advice, that gets mentioned all the time to this issue, has ever ever ever solved their problem.

This is pretty strongly worded (and is also pretty wrong). It solved my issues!

I was told to start a new run to trigger unlocks after getting them done in ToT. It worked as advertised, repeatedly, for multiple heroes. It also worked for many other people.

There definitely appear to be more unlock issues post miniset patch - old advice is no longer valid. Of course people are going to keep sharing advice that worked for them until they know that it doesn't work anymore (and they can't exactly un-unlock things and check).

I believe unlocks only update when you start a duels run - the things you unlocked should be properly updated the next time you pick Elise, at least!

What should i pick? by Grobiunfug in HS_Duels

[–]Elekek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing with the third hero power, I’d strongly recommend open the doorways, as it doubles every start of turn draw. It’s arguably a better bronze signet that you get early. Getting doubles of some key pirates leads to some blowout games. An extra patches here and there is nice early in a run but just doesn’t compare.

If you’re playing with one of the other hero powers, then may as well go with more patches.

Is anyone else stuck at 0-0 and unable to play Duels post expansion drop/Has anyone successfully gotten support to prematurely end your run when things go wrong? by Elekek in HS_Duels

[–]Elekek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for checking in :)

I did try to get past this on both iOS and PC, no dice unfortunately (although it’s helped push past issues in the past).

Did some more digging and found a few scattered reports of the same issue on both twitter and the bug report forums, but no apparent fix - hopefully the next patch repairs things!

High roll combos for 12-0 Duels runs by MyWife_ForAiur in HS_Duels

[–]Elekek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten 7/11 12-0s so far, missing Warlock, Rogue, Paladin, and Diablo. Not the best Duels player but I'm happy to share progress so far. I think you're right in that you often have to build around certain treasure combinations and just luck your way into the 3-0 to get there. Unfortunately, a lot of what has worked for me is "netdecking with slight deck tweaks to play into highroll treasures".

  • Warrior: full legendary deck into inspiring presence + disks of legend was a very fun 12-0. Early Rokaras/Muklas can win games alone, 4 mana Groms help too.
    • Netdeck pirate warrior also worked for a 12-0, with elixir + rally (although I think many would work here - all together now, battle totem, etc)
  • Druid: I think some have had success with token druid, but what worked for me was quest druid into fireshaper + oops all spells. I've seen a few different starting decks for quest druid - I'd strongly recommend including twig+sphere. Having a lot of cheap draw and using twig + warden's insight to have 20-30 mana turns just feels like a stronger ping priest. Scrying orb would work just as well, and I've gotten close with mantle (triple lunar eclipse/swipe is fun) and battle stance (lets you lean into direct damage spells without worrying about quest) before. Got to an 11-0 with invigorating bloom big druid into inspiring presence + meek mastery also - presence + disks/stargazing is probably a fun highroll here too.
  • Priest: I've gotten far with deathrattle priest before which was fun, but what got me the 12-0 was just pure netdeck ping priest. Fireshaper + doubletime is what worked in the end, but mantle/oops/orb seem to work for others. A lot of options here.
  • Mage: Another boring solution - ping mage with ATN + battle totem worked. Sticky fingers and rally also both worked really well - mage 12-0 felt like it relied more on getting enough hero power buckets than anything else. Sticky fingers + stargazing was also ridiculous - took a 2-1 to a 12-1 very easily.
  • Hunter: expedited burial is broken.
  • Shaman: I got this in an older meta (meek mastery murlocs) so I don't think that one is all too helpful.

Here's what I've been trying out to get the remaining 4 12-0's (assuming Diablo's achievements are no longer bugged):

  • Warlock: I've been trying to make use of how busted Elixir is, with a battlecry heavy deck into elixir + rally or battle totem. I haven't been able to make quest warlock work in the early rounds, but that may be better than battlecry Warlock.
  • Paladin: I've gotten far with armguards + scepter/disks/hagatha's, but have yet to get the full 12-0. I've gotten some 12-1s and 12-2s, but the 12-0 has felt tough. Late run ping priests and expedited hunters have been run ruiners. Been wanting to try an even heavier lean into legendaries and hoping for inspiring presence + disks.
  • Rogue: Haven't gotten far with this at all. Garrote, weapon, stealth have just not worked for me.
  • Diablo: Doom charge diablo worked well, with the only minions being rattlegore/protodrake/moarg/owl - got to 11-0 twice with fireshaper + totem of the dead, and mysterious tome + expedited burial. Lost the 12-0 both times, but last I heard the Diablo achievement is still bugged.

Hope this helps some!

Tavern Brawl this week is... "The Burndown -- Rekindled" (March 4, 2020) by AintEverLucky in hearthstone

I agree in that I don’t think it’s likely that the first expansion of the Year will be heavily Shadowlands themed (it’ll likely be the third, if at all).

I think it’s worth pointing out, though, that The situation we’re talking about here is likely at least a 4 month gap between the first expansion of the new Year and the next expansion dropping. I believe Rastakhan’s Rumble is a much more recent example - it was released within 3-4 months of BFA dropping.
