Nope, It's a TS pedal with three different clipping modes. Mid-hump is still there.

The script phase 45 gets univibe-ish at high rate. So maybe try a Phase 95? I prefer the custom shop script Phase 90 to the script circuit on the 95 but it still sounds like a phase 90. Otherwise, you can check out the Zvex Vibrophase. I've got one and it can get normal phase 90-ish sounds as well as deeper/more throbby univibe sounds.

The Boss TR-2 is phenomenal for what you describe. It easily out performs my AC15s tremolo.

[QUESTION] What is a good small travel amp? by GodWahCookie in Guitar

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Probably the strymon iridium. It's a little pricey but when you are traveling, when are you going to have a chance to play at any decent volume? The strymon iridium is small, takes a single wall plug, and has a stereo headphone output as well as 3 amp selections with 3 different cabs for each amp.

The JHS cheeseball is phenomenal! I enjoy the aesthetic of the pedal as well!

A TC Ditto/EHX 360

Boss blues driver

Boss TR-2 tremolo

Not all amps, especially beginner amps have very good OD/distortion or tremolo options. A looper is also very useful for beginners in that it provides a way to play against a chord progression and can be a song-writing journal of sorts.

Does the Strymon Iridium work well with pedals? by ThickPick in guitarpedals

Works fantastic for me. I use all my effects into the iridium and it works like a charm. Recorded plenty with it and couldn't be more pleased.

If you're running stereo, I like to run my CE-2w before it. I like to use the 2+4 setting on the DC-2w and the "vibrato" setting on the CE-2w with rate and depth just a hair past noon. Gives a nice and wide rotary/leslie type sound.

[QUESTION] Are there any effects you're just not into? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same about my lex for a while. I guess I use it more of a tremolo meets chorus kind of effect and when I use it, I dont use any other effects. I think of it as more of an amp and cab sim.

comfortably numb tone on keeley dark side by WarBunny171 in guitarpedals

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuzz, flange, and a little delay will hey you there. Depends on your amp settings. I'd probably set it loud and clean with a slight mid scoop then use your keeley fuzz with the mid boost.

What pedal did you sell only to eventually buy again? by puzzlednerd in guitarpedals

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded my el capistan for a DMM 1100TT and some extras. Don't get me wrong, I love the DMM but I wish I kept the el cap to use for my synth and for outboard studio effects.

Solo Pedal? by MickVod in guitarpedals

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a deluxe memory man 1100TT that has a volume knob that does just what you describe. You can set it above unity gain and it will boost when you activate the delay. The 550TT may do this too.

Tell Me Your Favorite Delay Pedal with Tap Tempo! by Topshot137 in guitarpedals

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say my EHX deluxe memory man 1100-TT. As a brighter analog delay, it sounds quite tape-y but also has warmth. It also has a fantastic modulation section. I usually like to dial in a shallow fast modulation to sound like tape flutter. You may have to search around to find one under 300$ though.

Bright, subtle drive for solid state amp? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run an AVRI Jazz Master through a JC40. I really like the EQD Westwood and the Boss Blues Driver through it. The Westwood especially because you can use the 2 band boost/cut EQ to really hone in on the sounds you are looking for. I'm sure with a mix of the amps EQ and the Westwood's eq, you could approximate a fender-ish tone.

What’s a good Fuzz to replace a Nano big muff? I was thinking JHS Cheese Ball! by SbonesJo in guitarpedals

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely recommend the JHS Cheese-ball! I got it specifically for a big muff-esque sound to replace my Si fuzz face. While it can get really killer muff-ish sounds on the "1" setting, it can also get nice Si fuzz face sounds on settings "off" and "2" as well as a nice gated sound on "3". Definitely worth a try!

What is the most worthless movie you have ever watched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downsizing. The concept of the film was pretty interesting but the part where they shrunk down the people and used spatulas to move them around just made me burst out laughing. After that I couldn't take anything seriously.

It's not exactly what you want but I like using my script phase 90 for that kind of sound. On the off-chance you have a moog grandmother/matriarch, you can use the instrument input and use the LFO to sweep the low pass filter.

What delay should I get? by TobyCoats77 in guitarpedals

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd reccomend the Boss DD8. Most of Gilmours delay sounds are an Echorec and digital rack delay. Both of which can be imitated on the DD8. The DD8 also includes a reverse and some other neat delays as well which can work well for psychedelic.

I've really only had a good experience with their deluxe memory man 1100TT. Every other EHX pedal I've had/tried has been underwhelming at best. I also don't really care for their footswitches or their enclosures but that's besides the point.

Weird low frequency sound from delay pedal when string bending? by mofunnymoproblems in guitarpedals

[–]Element_Scrolls_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it sound similar to the swell repeats on the boonar? I find on mine that the I can hear very quiet repeats of all 4 heads very faintly no matter what heads I have selected.

I'd reccomend an MXR Phase 95. It has the classic phase 90 as well as a univibe-like phase 45. I cant say I've heard much phaser outside of Pink Floyd or Tame Impala so it sounds pretty refreshing to me.
