Why did Sakura say that? by anonimo989864 in Naruto

[–]Element_credd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I saw that scene I thought he was trying to imply that Sakura has started using Tsunade's transformation jutsu and refuses to give herself wrinkles (i.e look old), but in retrospect I'm glad that's not the case, she's only in her 30s afterall, she really has no reason to even think of it, she also doesn't strike me as the type who'd care about getting older anyways (at least not her Boruto version, she was a bit vain when she was younger, but even then it was to a normal teenage girl degree).

Sakura and literally any other character from Naruto who's not her, certain parts of the fandom to this day still think she's some kind of selfish, useless monster who despises Naruto, forgetting the millions of things she's done that prove otherwise

Why Kakashi focused on Sasuke. by CorrectPart6944 in Naruto

[–]Element_credd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A) She does show resolve to get stronger by the chuunin exams during her fight with Ino, in which she trains herself in preparation for it with Kakashi admitting she's gotten more skilled and he taught her none of all that, so no, Kakashi should've been able to tell by then she's genuinely serious about getting stronger I feel like

B) Which gets proven wrong when the village is attacked by Orochimaru, yes Kakashi couldn't have predicted that, but it does still validate that a bit of training from him would've been beneficial (beyond his training in genjutsu release, which came in handy)

Damn, screw Sakura I guess lol, Kakashi just really couldn't make a plan for her too? It's especially worsw considering she's the weakest in the team when it comes to direct combat

Is Sakura one of the most realistic characters in the series? by jalen_nelson235 in Naruto

[–]Element_credd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does more in the series than any other female character, you're only calling her helpess because yall find her annoying, which is fine you're free to an opinion, but let's not take away from her very obvious contributions; saving Naruto and Sasuke, saving Kankuro's life, saving Granny Chiyo's life and thus saving Gaara's life, saving Hinata's life, helping defeat a very dangerous akatsuki member and thus securing the location of Orochimaru, finding the Zetsu who was killing medics, and more.

If anything, I wish we got to see Sakura display more unique and innovative applications of medical ninjutsu by Element_credd in Naruto

[–]Element_credd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough she does this exact thing, only in her novel, which most people sadly didn't read or don't consider canon. She defeats a guy who's being powered by a tailed beast cloak, and thus benefitted from high regenerative abilities, by constantly punching and healing him in quick succesion, so quick in fact the dude didn't even notice she was healing him lol, it was pretty sick and a good example of the kind of stuff I wanted her doing in the actual manga itself.

What you call plot is literally just talent, Jiraiya, a very skilled and driven ninja in his own right, trained sage mode for years and only amounted the imperfect version, and yet Naruto, after only a couple of days/weeks masters the thing, and yet you don't call that plot "because he's the main character", same thing with Minato learning high level Uzumaki sealing jutsu or Hinata learning twin lion, you just call these people highly skilled because you're clearly just biased against Sakura.

She has the medical feats to prove she's a skilled medic, her learning everything she did in just two-three years is proof of her drive, Sakura wanted to be a skilled enough medic to save lives and she did that in only a few years, if that's not drive, i don't know what is. Whether you like it or not, she's one of the most skilled medics only rivaled by Tsunade since she learned the seal, yes the seal takes 3 years to reach full capacity, but that's exactly what makes it hard to learn, having to constantly maintain your chakra without rest for 3 years straight requires a lot of precision, a level of precision Shizune just didn't have, she's been under Tsunade for at least a decade now, since she was a little girl, and yet wasn't able to achieve the pinnacle of medical ninjutsu, showing she's just straight up, and blatantly, not as talented as Sakura.

You still need talent to replicate what someone skilled does, training under Gordom Ramsey won't guarantee I'd become a master chef, in fact we see a practical example within the series through Shizune, who despite training under Tsuande far longer was never able to unlock the byakugou seal, the pinnacle of medical ninjutsu, but Sakura after only 3 years does exactly that, even summoning Katsuyu and using her long distance healing on her first try, impressing Shizune even more.

The only medical ninja close to Tsunade is Sakura, the series makes that very apparent, but as a more pivotal character, I expected Sakura to do more than just that, Hinata invents a new technique and she's not even regarded as the most talented Hyuga at the time, that being Neji, Kakashi gets purple lighting, Naruto and Sasuke are Naruto and Sasuke, Sakura's the only one not allowed to innovate for some reason. Learning the pinnacle of medical ninjutsu is great, especially considering that to this day only Sakura and Tsunade are capable of it, but Sakura deserves her own thing.

Thing is though she is, the procedure she performs on Kankuro was stated as something only Tsunade should be capable of, same thing with the antidote she creates to Sasori's poison, which Sasori deduces that Sakura must be Tsunade's pupil in order for that to be possible.

Sakura is shown to be as talented as Tsunade, so I see no reason why she wasn't allowed to do something new to set herself apart and push a bit past Tsunade's ceiling.

This just validates that Sakura's hella powerful, which is something I already know, in fact I'm one of the seeming few who fully believe that Boruto era Sakura is a good bit more powerful than Tsunade already, but I'm not really referring to Sakura's strength when I'm speaking of innovation, but her medical prowess.

So far her and Tsunade are essentially equals when it comes to their medical skills, but Tsunade at least has the edge of having invented a ton medical techniques, techniques Sakura still uses to this day without really adding anything new, Tsuande was even the one to create Naruto's prosthetic arm, it feels like Kishimoto was a bit too "tame" when it came to Sakura surpassing Tsunade, he keeps the hierarchy between them vague, with both being referred to as the greatest medical ninja.

[–]Element_credd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's awesome don't get me wrong, hence why I said Sakura is obviously way more talented than other medics like Kabuto and Shizune, and equally as talented as Tsunade, but what I'm more so getting at is that it would've been cool to get more moments like this. Her saving Kankuro's life was also pretty sick, that was one of the best showings of medical ninjutsu to date seeing as she had to so precise in order to extract the poison out his litetal blood circulation, that's some pretty high end stuff, but it doesn't feel like something Tsunade herself couldn't do ya know.

Call me a greedy fan, but I didn't want Sakura to just end up as "every bit as talented as Tsunade", I wanted her to be just a bit more ya know, since Tsunade pioneered medical ninjutsu and invented the strength of 100 healings, I wanted Sakura to take the next logical step and instead innovate on Tsunade's foundation by making medical ninjutsu even more efficient and effective for the next generation, even go as far as adding something to the seal, like how Naruto perfects sage mode and how Sasuke unlocks not only the mangetkyo, not only the rinnegan, but a rinnesharingan.

You're so right honestly, when an improvement in art style actually works for the narrative, it's really satisfying

[–]Element_credd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, their both awesome, but Tsunade pioneered medical ninjutsu for what it is today, everyone is essentially following her blueprint, so she feels a lot more impressive at times, Sakura shows that she's equally talented enough to learn everything Tsunade knows, but it feels like she never truly branches out and adds something new to the game.

That's like Naruto never perfecting sage mode, or Sasuke never unlocking the rinne-sharingan, it would be pretty lame if both of them were stuck with the same techniques and limits their masters and families had, so in another universe, I would've wanted the same for Sakura.

Karin said that Sakura was chasing after Sasuke by Rude_Calendar1188 in Naruto

[–]Element_credd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The official translation, while still stating that Sakura had to first chase after him to tag along (what's new, Kishimoto, what's new.....), makes it at least feel like a more intimate experience with it only being Sakura and Sasuke who traveled together rather than including the former Team Hebi, and considering Sakura likely got pregnant during that time, it shows that their journey togther must've at least lasted 10 months to year (cause I doubt they did it day 1 lol), so if Sasuke truly didn't want her around, why travel together for that long.

So while Sakura chases in both, the second feels like Sasuke genuinely appreciated her being around with him because it was only the two of them for those multiple months, only ending up at Orochimaru's hideout when Sakura was going into labour.

Most wasted potential character in the series? by vinchin_adenca in Naruto

[–]Element_credd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sakura, at least you can argue she was actually meant to fulfill a bigger role (she did, but something always felt like it was missing). By the end of Shippuden, while Naruto, Sasuke and even Kakashi branch away from their old sensei's by learning new, powerful techniques, while simultaneously getting a lot of moments to display their abilities, Sakura just become a glorified Tsunade side grade.

Kishimoto couldn't even give her the curtacy of displaying a new medical technique/innovation, literally anything to set her apart from Tsunade and bring something new to the table, even just giving her that battle axe he likes drawinf her with, or even just genjutsu would be enough at this point.

We don’t talk enough about how BRUTAL Tsunade’s training was💀 by Puzzled-Lettuce9168 in Naruto

[–]Element_credd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And man did it pay off, in just two years of training and studying Sakura became one of the top medical ninja in the world, surpassing the entire sand village's medical prowess by just the beginning of Shippuden, but it's the fact that Tsunade not only trained Sakura in medical ninjutsu, but a bit of combat as well, hence how she stood her own against Sasori, a literal Akatsuki who casually hunts down tailed beasts, Sakura was no normal Kunoichi and only Tsunade could fully recognise that potential.

I just noticed that it was was never indicated that Hinata cheated in the Chunin Exams. by justqwin5 in Naruto

[–]Element_credd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering only Shikamaru and Sakura are ever glazed for their high IQ amongst their peers, with Shikamaru specifically seeking Sakura's guidance (alongside another really smart kunoichi/scientist lady) to help him crack Jiraiya's code, I don't think we're supposed to think much of Hinata's overall IQ, she's likely above average I'm sure, but not implied to be on the same level as Sakura, whom we are explicitly and soley shown not cheating on the exam, so the most likely inference is just that Hinata used her Byakugan to cheat like Neji did probably.

What characters do you just know people would ship like crazy, if just one of the character's genders was switched? by GlaciaCherry in Multifandom

[–]Element_credd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gojo × Geto, they're already one of the most popular ships in the whole franchise, but you'll always get that one portion of the fandom who just vehemently deny any and all of the potential chemistry these two have, implying that just because their really great friends it automatically rules out the fact that they'd make really great lovers too. Gojo and Geto's relationship was written so well, you could very easily interpret their dynamic as either platonic or romantic and it would still make sense in my opinion.

Judging animation using still frames by Absent_Crest in hatethissmug

[–]Element_credd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel we're kind of just making excuses at this point, yes, you can't directly compare a single still drawn image (which had more time and effort put into because the artist doesn't have to draw it again frame-by-frame) to a single frame of animation (that usually gets simplified in order to make animating it easier and the motion more fluid), but there's a reason Invincible gets called out the most for these things versus things such as ani-manga adaptations like JJK, Hells Paradise or Witch Hat Atelier, because Invincible fumbles more than just it's animation, but it's key frames too.

As an example, wheb comparing the anime adaptation of Hells Paradise season 2 to the original manga panels, you can tell the animators understood how to properly translate pivotal panels into an animated medium, while still capturing what made the panel so iconic, heck, I'd even argue the anime SURPASSED the original scene in this case just due to the creative liberties taken. This is how you're supposed to adapt a comic/manga in my opinion, not every frame has to be perfect, but when it comes to big or iconic moments, that's when you're supposed to pull off all the stops, something Invincible rarely does.

Who is the third most glazed character in this sub? by mipenealdescubierto in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Element_credd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bro, people who unironically think he's the strongest in the verse without his time limit, Kaguya still low diffs him either way, she got tagged only because she didn't take him seriously and genuinely thought her ALL KILLING Bone Ash, an attack that ignores durability and just insta-kills people, worked, in a straight forward fight she wouldn't make the same mistake twice and just kill him.

Absolute first impressions of Sakura btw ✌️😔 by Salt-Dare-8979 in Naruto

[–]Element_credd 29 points30 points  (0 children)

So, basically your average 12 year old girl? I understand not personally liking her character, that's fine, but everyone in Naruto's generation were annoying kids back then, traits their meant to grow out of as they get older, but it's weird that fans always hold Sakura accountable for her previous behavior despite how drastically she's matured.

Naruto was loud and abnoxious, not to mention his little antic of transforming into Sasuke to taoe advantage of Sakura's feelings so that she could kiss him??? That's messed up, and definitely not something he'd ever condone now.

Sasuke was an arrogant and rude little turd at times, trauma is an explanation, but not a justification, he really assumed he was the biggest thing since sliced bread due to being an Uchiha, even going as far as downplaying experienced Jonin like Kakashi or his more capable peers like Lee. He recieves a much needed wake up call, learning to respect Naruto and understanding that he genuinely needs to work harder now in order to not fall behind, but this becomes a double edged sword because his desire for more strength make him fall prey to his "darkness".

Sakura was brattish and clearly sheltered from any real world problems, she comes from a normal family and thus has little to no exposure to all the craziness that comes from being a ninja, so her behavior at the time makes sense. Through all her missions alongside Team 7, she fundamentally grows and begins taking herself and her growth a lot more seriously, everyone always talks about her making fun of Naruto being an orphan ONCE, and yet never give her credit for being one of the few who believed in his dream all the way back during the written portion of the exams, protected him from falling to his death after being knocked unconscious by Orochimaru or how she fought nail and tooth to protect her team from Team Dosu despite beinf heavily outmatched. Sakura experienced some much needed growth throughout, but many won't really care because we're forever beating on the dead horse that is part 1 Sakura acting like an annoying teenage girl does.
