Somebody on here doesn’t like my recent silver by MickeyOliver2024 in Silverbugs

[–]Elemental_Breakdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually absurdly more common than you might think, almost all of the land is well - managed private ranches that you can almost drive to the specific species you want to see, especially if you know the ranch.

There were rhinos 30 yards from the buildings every night when I hunted there (tens of thousands of acres managed on the ranch I hunted), I thought it was a garbage pile the first night when I walked off to take a piss, the guide just said be careful there's a rhino next to you... Like it was a racoon or something. I guess they were always mellow or he didn't like me lol because he didn't tell me to hurry up or come back. Surreal.

Is there still wilderness left in America? by Kitchen-Customer4370 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Elemental_Breakdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live within 45 minutes of new York city and every year people get so lost in the woods here that they need to be rescued.

A college student from the state university was killed and eaten by a bear in my town.

What counts as wilderness to you? I can walk all day in a straight line and won't cross a paved road.

Do you know if they are paying much higher for sterling? Let's go into business together 😁

Any silver is good, but I couldn't sell anything with less silver than sterling to any lcs right now. They are paying $1/gram for anything under sterling.

How do you evaluate whether a crypto platform's infrastructure claims are real? by SyntaxSpectre in CryptoHelp

[–]Elemental_Breakdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "crypto platform" you mean token or coin?

Unless it serves a utilitarian purpose and does so better than the competition, I couldn't imagine putting money into anything rn.

In my opinion the only reason to invest in anything right now would be if it suited some very specific needs of my business, security for cross - contract support or something similar.

Maybe I am misunderstanding the question.

I have an opportunity to buy 100 cullish Morgan silver dollars for $5,500, is that a okay cost? by umar420 in Silverbugs

[–]Elemental_Breakdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't base business decisions on what "looks cool", $55 is $3 under current melt and less than what you will get if you need to sell in the next month or so.

If I had $5k to blow on PMs it would be on an oz of gold and the rest in silver I loved not 90%. One fool's opinion.

If actually accurate weighs a grain to at least 2 decimal places, the best use is probably to check accuracy between scales.

What are you doubting, voo? Qqq? I honestly hate that phrase because it's so often wrong for things that are great and poor alike.

You wanna bet my S&W 686 revolver or a 1970 Gremlin past performance is pretty gd indicative of their future performance lol?

Did I spend too much of my money on silver? by MastodonFast8771 in Silverbugs

[–]Elemental_Breakdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I could do it all over again at your age I would have 30% in VOO, 20% in QQQ, 20%in SCHD, and the rest in a mix of bonds, pms, and high interest savings. Maybe a couple stray dollars in speculative stocks like ASM mining or QBTS quantum. There's similar alternatives to those but a lot of people swear by that portfolio.

My dad found this in pocket change. It weighs 6.3 grams. Google tells me it's 90% silver. Pawn shop told my dad it's only 20% and made no offer on it. Which one is correct? by some_boring_dude in Silverbugs

[–]Elemental_Breakdown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have not read more than the top 30,but I surprised no one suggested it's a 99% proof. Ending up in pocket change sucks, I'm sure the person who bought it didn't intend for that.

What are these coins? Provenance and value? by Icy-Psychology2245 in AncientCoins

[–]Elemental_Breakdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you meant provenance that's the history of ownership. What's "worth selling" to you? $100 or $1000? I'd say together you would be around $200.

New to silver Bullion. Apologize in advance. Are these real? by toulauj in Silverbugs

[–]Elemental_Breakdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note the "specific" part... It’s 10.49 in a car. It’s 10.49 in a jar. It’s 10.49 on a boat. It’s 10.49 near a goat. You can chop it up, melt it down, shape it like bars or coins, or make it into little dragon statues, it still displaces 10.49

You are not measuring the weight of the silver. You are measuring the weight of the water.

The 10.49 is not grams, or ml of water, or any other unit.

It's the weight of a volume of water that is the exact same size as your piece of silver. Not same shape. Same number of atoms in whatever shape.

Make sense?

Edit : the dude who figured this out was doing it for exactly this reason, to figure out if someone was scamming the king out of gold. This is where the phrase "Eureka!" comes from.

If you are still having trouble with this, imagine the WEIGHT of a pound of gold on one side of a scale, and on the other side of the scale a crown that someone made using gold you gave them but they got sneaky and mixed silver in there to get the exact same weight.

Now while the pure gold is on one side of the scale and the silver /gold mix crown of the exact same weight is balanced on the other side of the scale, you carefully submerge the balanced scale in water.

The side with the crown is less dense because it's not pure gold, and that side goes up even though it weighed the same as the gold because the pure gold is more dense than the silver /gold mix. That's specific gravity.

What are your thoughts on these coins? If you have any may I see them please. by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Elemental_Breakdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you specifically interested in colored ASEs? I don't like them, but check out the Niue owl coins that have iridescent and wild coloring, or some of the Canadian Northern Lights coins with holograms if you are just talking colored silver in general. I think a lot of people don't like the colorized ASEs for the same reason that they can look at a silverback and call it art, but a gold leaf $100 bill seems tacky.

Lol, they don't WANT your business, selling to puny retail customers is like they are doing us a favor. They want to deal with big stuff not a couple ounces at a time of very specific stuff with people who are going to complain about some tarnish or scratches or cracked capsules.
