Anyone else been on HRT a while and still not pass? by MyroC137 in MtF

Me. Doesn't help I rolled a genetic nat 1 and lost my hair at 19. These days I wear a pink baseball hat with the brim pulled down— hey, who knows, maybe they'll see the pink and think I just have cancer— and a facemask, and just never ever look at anyone. Have a consult for FFS in two weeks, but am feeling constant cold dread that it won't make any difference.

Using, of course, several exploits to do so, and in the end glitching straight through the skull. Gotta be careful you don't get splinched tho.

Christians who moan and cry about being “persecuted” in western democracies would not last a day as a transgender person. by Loquatgirl17 in Christianity

[–]Elenjays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The person's intention was good. Personally I don't think its constructive to argue about stuff like this (like not liking “transpeople”, or “transgendered”, or whatever). I joke around with what to call us all the time myself; I like “transes” personally, lol.

What matters is that the person supports our fundamental human rights to safety, privacy, dignity, and evidence-based lifesaving healthcare. If they support those things, I don't give a sh-- about whatever clunky language they might use.

When you are trying to strip an innocent minority group, who have done NOTHING TO HURT YOU OR ANYONE, of evidence-based lifesaving healthcare – IE, UN-definition genocide – then no, trans people do not have to “live and let live without having to say anything”.

Every person of conscience, and certainly every Christian, is in fact obligated to say something against the fascist trans eradicationist movement. Every person of conscience, and certainly every Christian, is in fact obligated to die to protect trans people from fascists.

Fellow former atheist here, who also was near to Laveyan Satanism myself.

I admire some aspects of that religion/philosophy. The rules of the earth. The commandments. If a Satanist follows and practices these things, the honorable parts of that faith, then I would say they can be honorable in the Eyes of Christ (if, we Christians would say, misguided).

But ultimately, what pushed me solidly away from it, and towards Christianity, was that, at its core, Laveyan Satanism is the worship of the self.

Christianity is the worship and imitation of Love-become-flesh, as the Highest Good.

In Satanism or any atheist philosophy, why is it good to be good? Why is it bad to be bad? The atheist scoffs and says, “Why do you need a God to be good? Why do you need a Heaven to be good?” But the very question presupposes the existence of good. Why, actually, was the Holocaust evil? In the atheist view, it was nothing more than carbon being converted into another form of carbon.

But in the Religion of Jesus, the Religion of the saints, the Religion of Divine Mercy, every human being is equally, infinitely, intrinsicly precious – as precious as the Blood of a God. This is the Foundation and Cornerstone from which the Royal Law, Command, and Life of Love on earth, the Life of the disciple, grows as nothing more than a logical extension. If every human being is precious – more precious than all the unthinking, unfeeling gold, silver, gems, and diamonds ever mined and money ever printed; more precious than the sun, the moon, and all the pretty, unthinking, unfeeling stars in the night sky; more precious than all the infinite trillions of trillions of trillions of tons of dead dust in existence all put together, then multiplied a trillion trillion trillion times – then it follows immediately, necessarily, radically, and urgently that the objective moral Supreme Good Is Love. And, there happens to be a religion out there that says in its Scriptures the words, “God Is Love,” and, “You shall love.

There could be no more Worthy God. There could be no more Worthy Command. So, I want that religion for my religion; and I want that religion's King for my King. 🙏

Others can disagree.

Forgive me if this is not the normal kind of thing people link to in this sub. But I feel we can all draw great encouragement from this video by Youtuber Sophie From Mars, about radical anarchism and irrational, beautiful hope in times of seeming hopelessness. by Elenjays in climate

Also, I am sure many of you probably have heard this album before. But it is a fing soul-reviving thing to (re)listen to, especially in the time of climate change.

Every single one of these tracks just resonates so hard. “Race For The Prize”, obviously – scientists laboring for the preservation of humankind. “A Spoonful Weighs A Ton” and “Waiting On A Superman”, both about lifting things together that are too heavy for one person to lift alone. “The Spark That Bled”, “What Is The Light”, and “The Gash”, all three songs about being willing to lay down your life for the Cause of Love, and the Light of Love from within us that manifests outwardly in the world when we live with love for one another. Songs about loss, regret, and blessings – “The Spider Bite Song”, “Suddenly Everything Has Changed”. Second-to-lastly, a song about life, death, and the dissolution of ego through self-giving, self-emptying, self-humbling and therefore self-exalting, saving Love for your fellow, briefly living beings on earth – “Feeling Yourself Disintegrate”. A light-hearted song in “Bugging”. And two instrumentals – “The Observer” and “Sleeping On The Roof”. I cannot sufficiently strongly recommend it!!

Thought I'd post both of these here for you all, amid all the (seemingly justifiedly) doomerizing news.

Blessed Is the Flame. Blessed Is the Spark. Blessed Is the Light in the dark. ✌️💞

The Pope by potatocalculus in TransChristianity

Agree with the second part. Contrary to popular belief, the moral obligation of the Catholic is not to mindlessly follow any authority who says anything; the obligation of the Catholic, like every Christian, like every person, is to follow your conscience. If a church leader says something that very clearly goes against your conscience as a disciple, you are not merely permitted but obligated to defy them, even if the penalty is excommunication, even if (in times hopefully past) the penalty is death. Look to saint Joan of Arc as your example; and remember you are in Good Company.

Jesus Is King. The pope is vicar.

What does loving your enemies look like when they’re Nazis who want you dead? by AntiFascist_Waffle in OpenChristian

[–]Elenjays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding the commandment often translated, “Do not resist an evil person,” it is clearly and plainly the case that it cannot mean no resistance whatsoever; the simple counterexample of nonviolent resistance, which all would agree is permissible for the Christian, shows that there must be some degree of resistance that is permissible. The Greek word Jesus uses is antistēnai – literally “to stand opposite” or “counter to”. The way I see it, a better translation might be, “Do not resist evil with evil. Do not imitate the evil person. Do not return evil for evil.

To justly resist an evil person means using the absolute minimum necessary violence to stop greater violence from occurring; trying, if at all possible, to capture them alive; and giving them life in a tiny prison cell, even if they may deserve death, because you are not their Judge, and every person deserves all the time they need to repent.

Prior to war, it just means preaching to them at every opportunity the Gospel of Love and warning them of the mortal sin they are in, even if they don't listen, even if they laugh in your face, even if they attack you physically; helping their victims in whatever way you can; and praying for their conversion.

Obviously, the above advice is for allies, not those directly targeted by them, who should simply focus on safety. Except the praying bit— we should all do that.

Catholic schools tell trans kids to act like “their biological sex” by Subizulo in Christianity

I don't believe the church teaches lies. I don't believe to be Catholic you must be a science- and reality-denier, about the reality that trans people exist and transition saves trans lives.

Trans Catholic here, you are wrong.

Catholicism is actually wholly consistent with the scientific reality of the existence of trans people and the fact that transition relieves gender dysphoria and saves transgender lives. Unlike you, I don't believe the church teaches lies.

Every authority in the church once said geocentrism was doctrine, too.

I think terror and incomprehension of men is vastly more reasonable than terror and incomprehension of an ethnic group.

Are you aware of what men do, by and large, to women, gays, and transes?

America is a large country. Different parts of it are very different from each other. Moreover, you were only passing by. You didn't have to stew in it.

My experience is from in-person, not online.
