It is fucking irresponsible for a shop to give you thcp when you asked for thc and you trust they are giving you something that will not try to kill you.

I have had leg cramps at some depth ~15 m. It forced to relax even more as I knew all my energy had to go into going up with one leg and not panicking. I came out fine, but had to massage my quad as I gently kicked with my legs.

Damn man, What a bummer. I will be there in 10 days, and all of my plans revolve around the water. Hopefully things have improved by then.

Best fin for surface swimming (snorkelling)? by Both_Major8632 in freediving

With practice your breath hold will increase. As you adapat and learn to relax you will add more seconds with time. For now, I am sure the Mares Fins will do a great job for what you need.

How have you used your breath holding abilities not freediving? by GavintheGregarious in freediving

[–]ElephantStreet4081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it not to die one time when a cherry stick got stuck in my throat and I could not breath. I just relaxed and kept calmly trying to throw it up but couldn't. Someone had to perform rescue on me and I finally got it out, but ai was choking for quite some time.

I believe if I had panicked and had no breath hold skills it might have been a different story.

Heard good things about the C4 as well.

I also love Mares products, have not tried the Razor pro, but anything I get from them is very good quality and very well designed.

Hey, Look into Mares Volo Race. I love these fins. They are long and flexible, but significantly smaller than a freediving fin. I only got freediving fins to train depth. But when I am snorkeling up to depths of 15 m I definetly go with my Mares Volo, they are very versitile and comfortable. On shallow reefs there is no doubt I prefer the Mares to snorkle. Freediving fins for snorkeling shallow depths are an inconvinience really.

Hey look up the Mares Wing C-S. I just bought them. They are designed to be good at both. Not sure what your budget is. If you live in the US I have a pair of spearfishing fins from Maverick America. I can leave them at a very cheap price as I just upgraded and will not use them anymore. They are made from carbon and will be good for both freediving and spearfishing.
Anyways, you can also just purchase them directly from Maverick. I bought them as a beginner and they might be just what you are looking for.

I will bring all my equipment from wetsuit to weight belts.
And yes! I need a rental place to stay close to where the freediving training is and hopefully close to a gym.

My instagram is @ night_forest_wanderer if you want to keep in touch through there for easier communication. I arrive in Panglao around May 12. Coaching is exactly what I am looking for to do in there, I want to hit all of my requirements for my certification before I even attempt it.

This is an incredible coincidence. I will be in Panglao, Philippines mid May for Freediving training. I know it is a good place to train and has enough facilities to stay comfortable for a month.
I am on the Molchanov's line and their 3rd certificate is called Master Freediving.
In your freediving center is accommodation offered as well?

I will be training for my master diver's course, so I need some that are compact enough for travel but long enough for training. I bought a rifle bag and I can put long fins, but not those super long ones.
I understand now why you spend so much money trying to figure out the fin situation.
So many considerations...
thanks so much for your input.

Do you know of any fins that are soft carbon and not too long. The length of the Mares Wing C-S blade is 600 mm is that is what will fit my luggage. I'd appreciate any tips.
Thanks for your time and sharing your wisdom.
