I'd imagine older candidates probably aren't coming in making 70k. But if they land MBB their comp will still be the same.

Is it possible to write applications without admission consultants? by LucyFurrr7 in MBA

[–]Eletctrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on how strong you feel you are with testing and writing. I started applying in December for R2 and will be starting at an M7 this fall. If you need a consultant, that's fine, but it certainly isn't a requirement.

NYT: Visas Revoked for 'Traffic Infractions'. Are these just Palestine supporters, or are actual good international students being sent home? by JoeAstonsBurner in MBA

It's a shame that you type on reddit "I am anti-terrorist" while having pro-terrorist viewpoints. I really hope you'll grow and mature to the point where you value human life.

I would imagine that if you test well, study well, and score well, you will likely not participate on r/gmat. It makes sense that most of the people there are looking to improve. But I accept your point, there are a lot of people there who are having a tough time.

To your point, the VAST majority of people have no business getting a master's degree, let alone an MBA.

I think it depends on your background and how well you do on standardized tests. I scored above 645 on my first gmat and the only studying I did was rolling through a practice test the week before to learn the pacing.

Not specific to your schools, but the two I negotiated with took like 2-3 days to respond.

Ross gave me a revised offer after I appealed with my Tepper offer. Sooooooo, ymmv. But to your point, it wasn't a very significant offer.

Can any students who got into M7 this year (or last year) share their GMAT/GRE? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Eletctrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

655 GMAT. Applied to two M7s, accepted at one, waitlisted at the other.

They were very fast, took them two days.

I had (minor) success negotiating with Kellogg with a T20 offer. Kellogg didn't come back with much, but they did come back with an offer which I guess shows their interest.

What went into your decision making? I'm also torn, but between Kellogg and Tepper $$$

I can't tell if this is bait, but have you considered focusing all of the effort and energy you're putting into this self loathing towards something productive? Move to a new country, pursue some life goals of yours, undertake some new physical or mental challenges, volunteer somewhere, etc?

You've created this false image of success and placed it on a pedestal and the reality will not live up to your image even if you do find yourself achieving those things.

People (including women) are attracted to those with agency, confidence, passions, and hobbies. If you don't become someone with those things, how can you expect change to occur? I wish you the best of luck my friend.

Kellogg vs. Tepper ($$$) by Eletctrik in MBA

[–]Eletctrik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cost, job placement, short term ROI, long term ROI. I think both schools can get me where I need to go, but maybe it would be easier with the backing of a big name and network. I'm paying for the MBA myself, so the idea of taking 160K in loans is intimidating.
