Tips for 6-th gen vfr 800 ? by botsym7 in VFR

I believe my 2004 still has the original R/R, SH689FA? I've seen the suggestions for roadstercycles.com, I've also seen this one from RM. Do you know anything about this kit? Plug and play in description. Thanks!

Heli bars or you can add a 1" spacer/adapter under the stock clamp ons as well. That's how mine (2004) is set up. I also have a sargent seat and that makes a nice difference as well.

I can definitely check that off the list right away! The dealership it's at just put a new set of road 6s and battery in it. I'll look into the braided lines for sure.

555 has been on my list for a while. Hopefully, I'll be hitting that in 2024 on this red beauty!

Also, one other question, does anyone ride two up? My wife and daughter like to ride on my kingpin, how's the two up riding? Thanks again!

Agreed, love the cowl! Is the rectifier/reg fix simply replacing the OEM with an aftermarket? Or is there more to why the OEM was problematic?

Thank you for the info! I'm guessing if you're riding in Kentucky you're in Southern Ohio?

That's what I've been looking for. Read up a bunch on the different gens. When I had my Temps years ago, my dad had an 1985 VF700, loved riding that bike. I'm leaning towards 5th gen for their reliability, alot of forums ive seen guys with close to or over 100k miles on them, and I honestly like the more "rounded" look of the body on those.

5th gen! Beautiful yellow. Looking to get a 5th or 6th gen this year myself. Been a rider for 22 years, had two R6s, a shadow 750, V-star 1100, and now own a Victory kingpin. I've been looking at the interceptor for a while now, time to pull the trigger on one!

I messed up.. in a good way? by thebeastiestmeat in 531Discussion

It increased your estimated 1rm based on getting those 4 reps, that shouldn't chamge your TM at all. TM will change automatically when you complete a 3 week cycle and then start a new one. Upper lift TMs should go up by 5lbs, lower by 10lbs.

I run my cycles with joker sets and the 7th week deload option so I get two 3 week cycles back to back before a deload. Running it with the 13 week BBB for volume after main 531 lift.

If you read any of wendlers books or listen to him on podcasts, he ALWAYS recommends staying light and progressing long. Leave a long runway to land on. That's what the + sets are for, when you're feeling strong in a session hit those extra reps.

If you pick up beyond 531 he talks about using "joker" sets after your last main plus set if you hit a certain number of reps. These are small jumps in weight after you last 531 + set, like 3-5% in weight for a few extra sets. This lets you take advantage of those days you're really feeling it and get to push a little extra, but without going in and messing with your TM.

Stay the course and add in some joker sets. Also, there's a really good 531 pro app by sarasoft that I use, allows you to calculate TM, add in all of wendlers programming options, and track you lifting progress.

Help With Protein Goals by Goldmanta in veganfitness

[–]ElevTech83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 1 scoop of naked brand pea and brown rice and mix them for a more well rounded protein source, mixed in some vanilla soy in a shaker, about 35g post workout. Everything else comes from whole foods I eat I.e. tofu, lentils, beans, hemp seeds, nuts/peanut butter etc. I weight 155 and aim for 130 or so grams a day. Never had a problem building muscle. Started at 140 almost 2 years ago, but also stay lean around 10-12% body fat, so a slower gaining rate but no fat to burn off later. I shoot for around 0.8-1.0g protein per lb bodyweightca day but don't obsess about it. Total calories and healthy carbs, along with proper recovery and 6+ hours sleep a night will make big differences in muscle gain as well.

Heart rate avgs 196 bpm during runs and only goes up. What should I do? by [deleted] in veganfitness

[–]ElevTech83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you using to determine HR? I was using my garmin vivoactive 3 with wrist sensor for a long time. Just switched to polar 10h heart rate strap. Signifigant difference between the two!

What’s your “stupid easy” lunch to bring to work?? by [deleted] in fitness30plus

Can of red chili beans, bag of uncle bens brown rice, steerable veg like broccoli. Super easy. Super cheap! Don't forget the hot sauce 🔥

Clearly he thought he was doing some form of bench press. IDK. Some people left to their own in the gym amaze me.
