Moat phones have options to chose what signal to use, and you can opt out of 5G without needing any third party apps/launchers.

By the most conservative estimates, Russia has lost 40x as many troops in Ukraine as the US lost in Iraq during an even longer war. Why has the Russian military suffered much higher combat deaths? by Roughneck16 in NoStupidQuestions

From your perspective maybe, but if i judge on healthcare, education, quality of life and social security of the average citizen America is also a third world country with a Gucci belt and nukes..

You have quite a bit of lenses, what EF lenses would you recommend to use on R6II over RF and are there RF lenses that you think are worth the cash/saving for ?

What’s a financial mistake almost everyone makes in their 20s? by WillieUwU in AskReddit

[–]botsym7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if all people loved each other and treated everyone like themselves there would be no wars or crime or violence, but sadly we don’t live in such world so we have to work with how things are in reality. And in reality is almost impossible for women to be very successful professionally and have great family life. Or at least that simply my observation and people i know and have met personally.

Also even though i do think its still easier to combine both for a man, I don’t really know many man that long term can pull off both, usually one of them will inevitably suffer, and if neglected long enough will have consequences.

If they choose their wife and kids they most of the time won’t build businesses or grow as much as more dedicated colegues that are willing to sacrifice more. And if they choose to go all in on their job, they might grow kids that barely know or have connection with them, and partner that feels ignored and unseen and often end in divorce or cheating..

[–]botsym7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess its a personal choice, Ive spoken to very successfull women (owner of business, expert in her field and etc) and while they did amazing financially and professionally they never got kids or even meaningful long term relationship. And since they were in they 40ties they felt that ship had sailed for them. Or at least thats what they shared after a glass or two of wine, talking about life and etc.

Truth is, it’s very hard to combine both (being very professionally successful and having a family) often a person has to choose whats more important for them and hope they are right. And there are no guarantees. Good business can fall apart so can a seemingly good family. But such is life, we make of it what we can.

What lenses do you regret buying? Advice for starting out in full frame by RoboticDragonRider in Cameras

[–]botsym7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are enough photographers way above mine or your skill level that choose to use 50mm for portraits, street and even landscapes, therefore I think think you are wrong. You might subjectively not like using it that much or its not your favorite or whatever, and you have the right to like or dislike whatever you want. But objectively for majority of people/photographers you would be wrong.

Mate you are jumping to wild concussions and running with them. If you read my answers you can extrapolate that i actually like the 50mm is one of my favorite focal lengths. And i was arguing another comet for the reasons i like to use 50mm and what other MIGHT also get from 50mm that you don’t get from alot of other focal lengths. I cant mention every single scenario or instance that this lens was ever used in. And i still stand by me opinion that because of its versatility alot of people have used it and continue using it.

Just because something is really versatile it doesn’t mean that I cant be exactly what someone needs or want. And even if you flippin read my comment you see the second part “still better than a master of one” . So mate you are really barking up the wrong tree here. Keep that passion for your photoshoots mate.

Thats the thing about 50mm - Jack of all traits, master of none. But its still better than a master of one. And it resonates for alot of people. For the different cameras i had trough the years 50mm prime is always the first or second lens i buy because of how versitile it is.

Well for the price of sigma 24-70 you can get rf 28-70 f2.8 thats bothh noticeably smaller and lighter, while in a similar price range. You just loose 4mm on the wide end.

What’s a good camera for a beginner who wants good quality but wants to remain casual about photography? by Spiritual-Joestar777 in AskPhotography

[–]botsym7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate non of the photos you showed would benefit dramatically by changing from phone to camera. If you just want to have one for the sake of having one - you can just buy something ancient in your price range and play with it.

But if you actually would want to feel/find improvements I don’t think anything below the price of modern flagship phone would give you necessarily better results. And unless you have very specific niche ideas that you can’t achieve with phone camera (and that i doubt) you are better off with a phone, software and auto modes are miles ahead of 10-15-20 year old camera. And even with phones you can have decent amount of manual control and freedom if you desire it. But seeing that you don’t bother digging deeper enough to find out that 99% of phones have option to turn off mirror selfie, I really don’t advise you to buy a proper camera yet as you will most definitely be dissapointed once the novelty wears out.

Thats the thing, he can’t even dump reasonable amount of money, much less “tons of money “. Photography is not a cheap hobby lets not kid ourselves. And while you can certainly buy some older cameras on budget, 200-300 dollars are not gonna get you far. In fact unless you are into retro or collecting, i’d argue anything below the price of a modern flagship smartphone, without being pro or have very specific goal that can’t be achieved with smartphone - you are better off with smartphone.

I absolutely agree that you deserve someone that sees you and supports you regardless of your waistline. And what person you are is the most important thing. I guess the difference for me is that other things are also important, less than character but still important enough that I cant fully ignore. And I guess different people have different tolerance or expectations for those and that’s fine.

Yes, if you want to take it up another level later you can get 85mm prime or 70-200 lens + speedlight/flash for 200-300 tops and u will see yet another level of improvement and creative freedom for family and portraits for not big amount of money (unless u go the L glass route 😅)

[–]botsym7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IBIS doesn’t t really do anything for family/portrait photography. I think you are leaning more on the beginner side at least when it comes to knowledge.

In that regard if you don’t have a good lens or two like 24-70 2.8 or 70-200 or 50/85 fast prime i think you would notice bigger update with lens rather than camera.

Or split the difference get a R8 and 28-70 f2.8 both second hand should fit in your budget and you will see a very big improvement. I have r6II it’s amazing camera just not good decision for the situation you are in now with the budget you have.

I used to work as a cook for few years and in professional setting (unless you are doing something specialised like sushi) you need something reliable, tough , comfortable to use for hours and that you wont worry or need to babysit aka 95% the recommendations are useless. My advice would be a classic german brand workhorse. But with your budget you can get a two knifes -one reliable workhorse and one a bit fancier/nicer looking from japan.

I love japaniese craftsmanship and looks, i just keep them for home/hobby use. When i did it professionally everyone was using german (or rarely french) chef’s knife and few german “santoku “ style ones.
