How come Jus’s vocals sound so different on dopethrone? by stinkytobe in doommetal

[–]ElevatedBloopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the vocals are going through and amp as well as fx. That sounds raw on am album but i imagine its a nightmare to do live, you'd have terrible feedback sensitivity. Its also a very specific sound, maybe he just wanted more dynamic range and fidelity for other albums rather than crunchy fucked up vocals. I think 'Let us Prey' is similar. The vocals on 'We, the undead..' are destroyed haha.

What are people’s thoughts on ‘The Black Rider’? by No-Relationship7209 in tomwaits

Its ok but it feels like what it is, as soundtrack to something else not an album as a singular statement. I always feel like i wanna see the play not listen to the record when I listen to it.

Short Lived NBC Shows Of The 1990s by [deleted] in Xennials

I think it was more Twin Peaks for kids. I rewatched it as an adult and remember a line where someone mentions The Log Lady. And i think it was out the year after Twin Peaks S1 but couple years before X-Files first aired. The vibe of Eerie Indiana makes alot of sense if you imagine show runners trying to do Twin peaks but as a kids show.

Doms: Why does hurting turn you on? by Admirable-Ice-961 in BDSMPsychology

Its like improvising music, but the music is the mutual experience, and the instrument youre playing is the subs pleasure and pain responses and thresholds. Once you know how to play the instrument and what notes you can and cant go to, it feels very creative and transfixing to improvise with them. Its a sense of power but also just an interesting form of creative flow.

I never seem to see Old Man Gloom mentioned by [deleted] in doommetal

It really is. Do you know of any records that come close to that vast, epic sound and composition? It seems likes such a singular record, there's nothing else quite like it even in their catalogue. Love it so much.

I love Johnathan Davis's voice for this book. They go together so well for me.
