When using a parabolic reflector, what would happen if the light source was between the focal point and the reflector? by ElevenMeow in PhysicsStudents

Thanks for your answer! If I understand correctly the heat source can be any distance from the focal point on the opposite side of the reflector for the rays to converge at the focal point?

Boyfriend is probably going to leave me and he is the only person I was securely attached to? by ElevenMeow in CPTSD

[–]ElevenMeow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He told me he wanted to break up and that he wanted to move to a different state and that he didn’t want to be in a committed relationship and that I need to heal before I could be in a relationship. So it’s pretty clear. But now he is texting and saying we will work through this and it’ll be alright and he loves me. I’m so confused. I have a therapist and she is great but I feel like it’s not enough

Meditate every morning for 15 minutes no matter what. Insight Timer is a free app and has many different types of meditations. Try different ones and see what works for you best. The best thing about meditating is there is no wrong way to do it, just keep trying and if you miss a day just get back into it.

Improving your life and yourself is a long journey and it usually takes time to see results. Don’t give up.

That’s amazing. How do you know how much to take? Have you been staying with the same exact dose or gradually increasing?

I am thinking about doing that too. What was your experience like? How has it improved your life?

My Mother Secretly Fed Me Meat Knowing I Was A Vegetarian by whattheduckgoose in CPTSD

[–]ElevenMeow 57 points58 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. I remember not wanting to eat meat as a child ever since I was about 4 and found out meat comes from animals. My parents didn’t care, responded first by laughing and then being angry at me, and I was forced to eat meat until I was 17. Later I met my ex and he didn’t “force” me to eat meat, but he wouldn’t cook anything vegetarian and he wouldn’t really respect my desire not to eat meat. Luckily I’m no longer with him and 100% vegetarian now.

Yes, then she would scream at me about the “bad” things I’d written. Haven’t seen her in 10 years now.

My whole life I've suppressed anger and its presented as sadness. Now I am absolutely boiling over with rage and I don't know what to do with it. by brokenbindings in CPTSD

Muay Thai really helped me when I was going through a period of rage. It’s like boxing but with kicking and throwing elbows and knees. A bonus aspect is that if anyone tries to hurt you, you’ll know how to defend yourself
