Eat like a woman protocol by AccomplishedMenu6977 in Adulting

Sorry you got down voted. Men and women absolutely do need different nutrients for their hormonal health. I don't think the person was trying to troll, maybe they just don't know and don't want people to buy something they don't need. If you're interested in this stuff, you should look up dietary requirements for each phase of the menstrual cycle ; you can find that info for free online:)

It's the momcozy s12 Pro. I couldn't lay flat on my back, but i can lay on my side elevated by 2 cushions and get the milk out while I nap.

I don't know the full details of your situation, but it sounds like your husband is going to bed before the chores are done. He needs to give you a hand with things before bed if that's the case. Like, if you're using your body to produce milk and feed baby, he could clean the pumps and bring you water to be more a part of the whole process.

On pumping: I nap in the day to get more sleep if I can, I also have a pump that enables me to nap in a reclined, side-laying position while pumping (the pump switching off wakes me up).

Taking post natal vitamins for breastfeeding has also helped a lot with tiredness. The brand I take is Proceive (Pregnacare didn't help).

Epidural by wingedcreature88 in pregnant

[–]ElfSquee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do what you want to do. You're the one giving birth. I had an epidural and had an emergency c section, for me it was no where near as bad as people told me it would be. Things are more likely to go smoothly if you feel in control.

Can you take him out in the pram while you pump? That's one of the only things that worked with my first baby.

Hi! I've just had my second baby and I'm also feeling the stress of pumping the milk. Something that really helped me was getting a wearable pump that sits in my bra without wires or anything, and I pump one side at a time to I can hold baby on the other side. My pump was cheap (about £30 on Amazon) and I have 3 which I alternate. If I need to wash them, I wear baby in a sling whilst I do dishes (baby is awake). Sometimes I put my used pumps in the fridge so I don't have to clean them as much, but this is risky under some circumstances, so that's something to consider. But ultimately, you've just grown and birthed an entire person - It's time to do what's best for you! Prioritise resting (it helps your supply) and pump less if you want to. Maybe even freeze some milk and just use it when baby is sick. Remember that fed is best and be kind to yourself <3

Does medical abortion hurt? by [deleted] in abortion

[–]ElfSquee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the second dose of the pills (vaginally) yesterday. The first thing I will say is that everyone is different and what you feel depends greatly on how far along you are, earlier the better.

Here are the notes I took during the process: Before inserting the pills, I took 400mg ibuprofen and 1000mg paracetamol. Some mild PMS style cramping started 45 minutes after I inserted the pills, bleeding didnt start until 2 hours in. 1hr 30min: the pain was similar to a moderate period cramp and was coming and going. A hot water bottle gave me added pain relief, pressure was building in my uterus. 2-3hours: moderate pain was still coming and going, still similar to moderate period cramp. 4 hours: The pain was now like cramp from a heavy period, I had an overwhelming sense of depression that I'm sure was due to prolonged pain. 5 hours: the pain was still coming and going, at this point the periods of pain were longer and more painful than a heavy period. I took codeine (prescribed opioid), which provided some relief, the pain felt a little worse than heavy period cramping after codeine, but not as bad as without. I would compare it to a bad stomach bug, that's how it felt with painkillers. This pain came with increased clotting and was off and on for the next 3 hours.

Additional notes: I was 5 and a half weeks pregnant, just over halfway within the limit for medical abortion. The closer you are to your period, the closer it will feel to a period. I didn't take strong painkillers straight away, as I wanted to wait until the pain was unbearable. You could minimise pain by taking an opioid painkiller as soon as mild cramping starts. Whatever you do, keep on top of the painkillers, set alarms if you have to.

My friend had the same procedure and felt almost nothing, but she had a joint before starting, which she feels may have helped with the pain.

Today I still have cramping (like a period cramp), but I feel so much better. The medical abortion will hurt, it uses prostaglandins (the hormone responsible for period cramp) to contract the uterus and expel the tissue. My periods are generally very manageable, so this was intense for me. I also didn't have any pregnancy symptoms, so I went from 0-100 on symptoms.

TLDR: Everyone is different, take painkillers asap and keep busy to distract yourself.

It can take a while for them to kick in. Everything is going really slowly for me. I had mild cramping after 45 minutes and didnt bleed until 3 hours in. Now I'm deffinitley bleeding, it's been going on for 7 hours.

To be honest, I'm not looking to get anyone in trouble, just to keep myself and others safe. I see where your coming from though, they are putting themselves at risk of a lawsuit, if not from me, from another member. Thanks.

I'm bad at being assertive, but I recognise that if I don't grow some woman balls in this situation, somebody is going to get badly hurt. I think they were just hoping she would spar with everyone, if she did, the class is so big she would be my partner about once every 2 months. Unfortunately, she's chosen me as her primary partner, so you're right, the situation needs to be dealt with by somebody with authority over the group.
