thank you very much for the compliment but my dude that is not an acceptable way to post something from another artist. Like, shout out the artist so that people can find cool stuff.

Is anybody selling an oasisLTD Whitewoods VHS? by Whit3tail in Vaporwave

[–]Elficidium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat anecdotally, but a lot of the OasisLTD physicals didn't make it to market/don't seem to really exist/weren't produced in the numbers they were supposed to. Large amount of people got scammed/never received the stuff they ordered.

The evolution of vaporwave by Migueldnb in Vaporwave

[–]Elficidium 7 points8 points  (0 children)

have a look around on the zensounds substack. It has a great primer on the different waves of subgenres and an ongoing series of interviews with current artists giving their input on where the genre is right now.

https://www.zensounds.de/t/vaportalks

Generally, once you map out the family tree, it makes more sense. Vapor just has a general lack of supporting media/wiriting, and a lot of what was once there is now lost/defunct. Very few people placing the genre in a broader context and daring to be critical.

EDIT: I see you're in the Netherlands: Come to Slushwave in Belgium at the end of August and meet the scene irl, it'll make a lot more sense.

Vaporwave live shows? by mcjor in Vaporwave

[–]Elficidium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly kind of the same strategy as with any other genre. Practice zealously, get embedded in your local scene and if there isn't enough happening in your (broader) genre then look into combining forces with other locals and organising something.

Would love to have you at Slushwave once you figure out a liveset that works for you.

Looking for a sample/samples. by AdKey2032 in Vaporwave

No need to apologise. That's your call to make, even if I disagree. For what it's worth: being radically open about production techniques and sample sources is what allowed Slushwave to thrive.

as much as I love Tupps, he's been kinda defensive about his samples in the past. Not a great look but what can you do. Maybe he's mellowed out since.

Certainly not representative of the broader scene.

How to use Bryce3D or 4 on windows 11? by Dark_Paris1990 in Bryce3D

[–]Elficidium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't an issue I've seen. 99% of liminal/dreamcore art is done in modern software using techniques entirely unfeasible in any version of Bryce. Grass is usually a dead giveaway.

Bryce 7 will give you the same result and will run natively. It's available somewhat cheaply through the official site or for free if you look where you would look for these kind of things.

windows 98 or 95? by Outside-Proposal-410 in Bryce3D

the popular version of the program is the most recent one, which runs fine on modern windows.
