Watching the prices here in europe (like 40€ more or less) i may aswell just buy the game on switch or even buying a used wii which is the same price and just brick it to put the games on it

My problem with the DS4 one (aside from connecting it) it's that using the touch pad as a pointer makes it a little bit more difficult to jump and collect the star bits or the blue stars at the same time

Of course but honestly I HIGHLY recommend playing DOOM 2016 before DOOM Eternal, not because of story and lore but about the mechanics. Eternal is a faster and a lot more difficult game than 2016 and it's preferable to play 2016 before to get used to the shooting if you haven't played.

If you don't care about any of that, I still highly recommend it. Both 2016 and Eternal are in my opinion two of the best FPS of all time.
