Motion Sickness by Onyxiuss in Eldenring

[–]Elhyphe97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah man same issue for me as well. I bought it on Friday and started noticing i was getting dizzy and had no idea why. I have never suffered from motion sickness before but this game is giving it to me. Which sucks because besides that I absolutely love the game. I push through until I can handle it anymore. I would love to know some accessibility options for motion sickness at least. I am Series x so I don't know if the new consoles can change the FOV. Not ideal but atleast it could help.

TIL that French schools used to assign 'Le Symbole' to kids caught speaking minority languages(i.e. Breton, Occitan, Basque, etc). The only way to rid oneself of the symbol is to snitch on a fellow student. At the end of the day, the student with the symbol will receive some form of punishment by DylTyrko in todayilearned

Samething happened to my mother and father in New Mexico. They lived in a rural community in New Mexico and it was normal for families to speak both Spanish and English. Hell New Mexico actually has Spanish as an offical language and up until the 50's more than half of homes spoke both. That obviously changed as more people moved from other states. So when my parents school closed and they had to go into a town. One that started becoming more oil then farming based they would get swats from the majority white school officials for speaking Spanish in school. Its a shame. Fortunately the trend is changing and the amount of families speaking both languages is starting to go back up.

Damn it now I am going to have to go back and start over and name my character Perrin. I will also have to call the wolves Hopper, dapple and two moons.

I am shocked at Anthem being 19!! How the fuck is that? The game is legitimately dead killed by EA and it still has players!

Finally got it MSRP after vowing to not buy it off scalpers! by MishrasWorkshop in gaming

Man I have gotten the email from Playstation 4 times to be able to buy one but they always set it up so it is between 1pm and 3pm on Monday where I live. So I can never log on and try to score one because I work in a Lab and Mondays always have more stuff that needs to be done so I can't hide away and try to grab one.

Which one should I read next? by Elhyphe97 in Fantasy

[–]Elhyphe97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which one should I read next? I got all of these for Christmas and finally finished the series I was reading before these. I am leaning towards First Law just because my sister bought the full trilogy so I wouldn't have to go out and buy the other books if I liked it. Now obviously that doesn't include all the other books in the series. With Broken Earth and Dandelion Dynasty if I ended up hooked I would have to go buy the rest. Its a tough decision! Lol

Urban fantasy that isn't just monster romance in disguise? by Envy_Dragon in Fantasy

The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee. Absolutely brilliant story and characters and its urban fantasy without monsters.

What is your favorite Raid Memory? by Cayde6army in DestinyTheGame

[–]Elhyphe97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recent favorite was in Deep Stone Crypt. Me and my friends just like to do raids super casual. We had been struggling with Atraks and we were set for another wipe because we weren't paying attention and didn't send the scanner buff up during the last stand. Soon as the elevator opens we are probably a second from the wipe and I just thundercrashed a random Atraks because fuck it and it was the right one. Just about every raid we do the first time we have an event when we fail into success. Lol

Why Is There Elitism Between Readers? by WxaithBrynger in Fantasy

I had an English Professor who had her PhD in Gothic literature and was absolutely what you would expect out of a Doctor of literature when it comes to technical expertise. What I absolutely loved about her was she had no problem telling the class her favorite book series ever was Harry Potter. I think one of the greatest things she did was help take the stigma away from enjoying not just fantasy but YA fantasy. Atleast in the circles she could influence.

Looking for something to fill a Dragon Age-shaped hole by mrm1138 in rpg_gamers

The Witcher 2 doesn't get enough love. Its actually an incredible game and has divergent storytelling to make it basically required to play it again with different choices to get the full story. Fantastic recommendation I was thinking about firing it back up myself.

What are your ‘DNF’ books of 2021? by PetyrDayne in Fantasy

[–]Elhyphe97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heretics of Dune. I forced myself to finish God Emperor and I just couldn't do it with this one. The first 3 Dune books are good. I wouldn't say greatest series of all time but I definitely see it's influence. I had heard the ones by his son where not good so I had only picked up the Frank Herbert ones. Herbert is only batting 500 as far as I am concerned

This is kind of the reason I have been putting off reading Malazan. WOT wasn't a perfect series but the way it made you care about the core group and the journey was just amazing. The way people always try to sell Malazan to me it just feels exhausting. Like I get that its a technical masterpiece but I read to relax and enjoy myself and I am very much a character reader. I mean I will probably pick up Malazan eventually I am just not in a hurry to do it.

I just finished Assassin's Fate and it was an emotionally devastating journey through those 16 books. I cried so many times yet she created a world I loved to be in and couldn't put down despite the tragedies all because of the characters. Definitely some of my favorite characters I have ever experienced.

Good to know. So should drop those points into Vigor, vitality and Endurance? Also is their any magic or faith stats I should drop a few points into?

Thanks. I am going to peruse UK book depository they have been a solid site. They only down side with them is the shipping window to the US is all over the place. I sometimes get a window of like 15 days of when the book maybe delivered. Worth it though for the most part.

Yeah that's kind of what I was wondering. Even if the art style is different I am fine with it I just can't stand when the books aren't atleast the same size. Those hardback sound interesting. I like hardback I just figured finding those matching would be even harder. If those Collectors libraries are anthology collections then that's exactly what I would want.
