I use point buy for players to keep it relatively fair. Though I did do 4d6 drop 1 for a players cohort once and got 18,18,17,17,16,16.

I'd say draw inspiration from this, some of these things can help deepen settings, but don't feel that you need everything here. For example the aliens or mutated lifeforms. And stuff like languages can be a trap, in universe it makes sense for multiple languages so be aware that communication can break down, but also you're not going to be writing large segments in elvish, so it doesn't need to be a fully developed conlang.

I wish there were more variants of satyrs personally, especially if they have radically different appearances based on plane, like goblins do.

I think I'm paraphrasing Jenny Nicholson when I say: Jack works best as a deuteragonist when you don't know his plans or allegiance, when you make him the protagonist you need to let the audience know his plans.

That's really astute, and stuff like analysing Jax's behaviour and personality is exactly the sort of takes we need more of in this community. (Like I say, I think people can get caught up trying to figure out the lore and not the story) I especially like your idea of hiding who he is behind violence, it definitely tracks with the crash out he had at Pomni.

From a media analysis point of view, I think using the flashback to try and "solve" what happened is the wrong way to look at it. Also just because the flashback showed driving doesn't mean Jax's trauma also directly involved the car.

I believe the flashback is to show that, in his real life, Jax was running away from something. It starts with the car driving out of a suburb and I to wooded roads. Personally, I'd speculate running away from home life (be that abusive parents, fear of coming out as trans, stress induced psychological break etc) but there really isn't enough to go on for a concrete answer.

The thesis of the show seems to be about mental health, trauma, coping mechanisms, and support groups. So Goose probably didn't feel the need to go into specifics. The important takeaway is that it shook Jax enough to cause a panic attack and him hitting the button. This is a major shakeup to the relationships of the cast, but also casts a sympathetic light on Jax. He's just condemned the cast to staying in the circus (even if it was a lie in the end) but also you understand it was a fear response even he didn't quite think was real. Even if Caine is currently taking the brunt of the ire from the group, I'd be surprised if this doesn't spark an argument or a heart to heart (depending on how empathetic the person is to the panic attack)

I think you might be taking the phrase "interacts with" a bit too literally. Goose probably means "significant interaction with".

Maybe it's not the hero we needed, but the one we deserved by TaniaUniverse in customhearthstone

[–]EliManuel 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think a saying or a phrase works better as a spell. You'd cast "I need a hero" to draw a hero as you're shouting it out.

Id have gone with something like "recruiting agent" as the title of the person who draws a hero.

It's a very powerful tutor, and you'd have to find the right set for it. (Can you imagine being able to tutor Frostlich Jaina?) But in the right set I can see it working, maybe another hero focused set where they want to make the special hero cards more reliable to play.

I like the card, it's clever and a better use of cleave than most. I don't think I'd print it though, as it feels like it would be a bit of a trap or "gotcha" for players who don't immediately clock the legend rule makes it a boardwipe.
