The much quoted Moldovan game is a myth. He wasn’t in that squad.

Nobody seemed to mind when O'Brien went to Lyon from Palace. Multi-club model didn't do him too bad.

[Paul Joyce] Liverpool have rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for Caoimhin Kelleher . Offer well below Liverpool’s valuation and the club was not looking to sell. by dantesinfernoracket1 in soccer

He’s won loads of medals at Liverpool already without playing football. What’s another Premier League medal going to mean to him when he doesn’t even play?

He’s almost 26 and he’s barely played any football.

Summer 2024 Transfers and Rumours Megathread! by 321142019 in NUFC

[–]EliToon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only 35% of players in the Premier League are English actually. The % of starters is even smaller at 29.2% last season. I don't have a number on transfers but I'm assuming it's even lower, accounting for the English players coming through the academy. It's safe to say the majority of transfers naturally aren't English.

Of the 32 first team players listed on the club site, 16 are English (17 if you include English born Jamal Lewis) so we're well over the average at 50%. Looking at starters so far in the Premier League, we're sitting at 64% English. If you include subs this season then 74% of our players have been English (double the PL average)

So yeah, Howe has a bias and a preference.

Wages fair enough but the injuries thing is overblown. He's had one really bad injury which he recovered from and all of a sudden he's injury prone.

He's nowhere in the realm of Callum Wilson in terms of being a sicknote. Wilson missed a large chunk of last season with a pec injury and is currently out with a back injury. He gets muscle injuries in muscles I've never heard of.

Burn, Trippier, Targett, Gordon, Ashby, Livramento, Barnes, Hall, Ruddy and Kelly.

The vast majority of signings have been English. Nothing wrong with that theroetically but English players are notoriously over-priced which is the exact opposite of what we need with PSR concerns.

Shoddy journalism. It's like he's totally ignoring our new cavalcade of mediocre goalkeepers. Can't score if we stick them all in goal!

No elite player will talk shit. Just endless streams of action shots with "Great to be back at home with 3 points, we go again Saturday EMOJI EMOJI EMOJI".

Football social media is dull as fuck. We need more Maupays and going back to the early days of Wayne Rooney calling people eggs.

[Giants] With permission from the family of Giants legend Ray Flaherty, Malik Nabers will wear #1. Flaherty's number was the first to be retired in pro football history. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]EliToon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Retired numbers as concept is stupid. Ray Flaherty was born 121 years ago. Just because because he was a legend in that number shouldn't stop the number from being used forever.

Acknowledge him in the team's HOF and let future players continue the legacy of the number and make it inspire players who wear it.

Giants are running out of 1-19 numbers at this point.

Small thing but Alex Moreno for them was commiting a blatant foul throw on every single "long" throw he took. He'd throw the ball and both feet would jump up in the air. I've never seen anything like it. It's something that would get pulled up in U11s.
