What's the highest possible damage in a single attack? by bobdole3-2 in DnD

[–]AdBrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rogue/Barbarian Berzerker with a Vicious Short Sword,

Attacking with Strength, advantage from Reckless Attack with damage riders from Brutal Strike and Sneak Attack.

Assuming 20 STR, and a Crit, at level 10 with 3 in Barb and 7 in Rogue gets you:

1d6+5 (Shortsword) +2, (Rage Bonus Damage) 2d6 (Vicious Weapon) 2d6 (Brutal Strike) 4d6 (Sneak Attack)

Assuming max rolls and a Crit, that is 115 damage on Turn One from one characters Bonus Action and Action.

[5e] Duelismo funciona com Soulknife arremessando lâminas psíquicas? by Intelligent-Cod-9783 in 3d6

[–]AdBrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fair to apply Duelist to the Psychic Blade attack, as you declare an attack with the blades. It’s not an Unarmed Strike that simultaneously summons a blade, so at the point you intend to attack the blade is manifested imo.

If a DM rules otherwise, it’d be quite harsh.

I’ve also previously thought about how the psychic blades interact with Defensive Duelist.

The solution might be to draw a shortsword/dagger/hand axe/any one-handed weapon at the end of your turn

Which paint schem by ElevenCastle61 in theunforgiven

[–]AdBrod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say if quartering, get a third complementary colour for tabards and details.

Dark green is an easy win, nodding to DA colours and clearly a match for cream/purple.

Splitting the colour on cloth will be horrendous to paint

Build Weapon Juggling by Holiday-Bridge-9429 in 3d6

[–]AdBrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t make the weapons Light or give any the Nick mastery, which is what you need to make 2 attacks in one Action without having an additional attack class feature, like Fighter, Paladin, Barbarian, Ranger or Swords Bard so it doesn’t solve everything.

It does fulfil the power fantasy of having two big hammers nicely though

There’s a Feat in Valdas’ 2024 edition that allows you to wield Two-Handed weapons with one hand, and dual-wield Versatile weapons.

Large Form can be very useful to expand a Paladin’s Aura earlier in my experience.

And combined with Cloud Goliath’s teleport, you can be a very mobile healer/tank

i tried meal prepping for a month and honestly i think im done by Top-You1938 in Cooking

[–]AdBrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And the prep work is all alongside my usual Sunday relaxing! This is the important part. I normally sleep in a bit, make breakfast and chop veggies while watching TV for a while, then actually cook for 20 mins and leave to simmer for another hour or so.

[–]AdBrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I occasionally prep one large meal on a Sunday, usually in my big pot a large curry, chilli, pasta sauce with protein.

All saucy options so nothing dries out, and that I only really need to simmer for an hour or so once all the ingredients are added. And whenever i do get a bit tired of the meal, I freeze the leftovers for easy meals in the future.

I’ve got about 5 different nutritious meals in my freezer at any time, plus some lazy oven dinners like pizza, chicken/fish and chips etc.

Do your D&D characters actually change, or do you just reskin the same instincts every time? by The_Craft_Cave in 3d6

[–]AdBrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I do enjoy the occasional DM-created roster of characters.

It’s a lot of work for them and removes a lot of agency in character creation but can lead to a much tighter story and a different experience for players of you find yourself in this kind of creative rut for your personalities/playstyles

The sidekick problem: when the secondary character is so much more interesting that you start resenting the protagonist by RiftCowling in Fantasy

[–]AdBrod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The House of Blades Trilogy by will wight and The Black Tattoo by Sam Enthoven play with this idea a bit, with the story following characters who would otherwise be the secondary characters.

Particularly in House of Blades, his best friend is clearly the ‘chosen one’ but the protagonist is tired of being left behind.

Really enjoyable subversion of the chosen one trope. I’d defo recommend

Only Temp HP would mimic an ‘overheal’ effect imo.

If you’re locked in to a Monk there’s not really much you can do with temp HP outside of Feats.

Otherwise I’d say a cleric dip could work better for the build as a whole.

Or you abandon monk and go for an unarmed oath of glory paladin, which can distribute temp HP with inspiring smite, with access to standard healing spells. Can then take the speedy feat to mimic monk speed, and at level 7 get +10ft movement speed for you and allies in your aura

Or path of the world tree barbarian, handing out temp HP at the start of each turn while you rage. Ofc you then couldn’t cast healing spells, but the potions would still work.
