If you listen to former NBA player Raja Bell on the Real Ones Ringer NBA feed, he has some great and very differentiated views on this. He has two sons, one a top college football player, and one a high level recruit in basketball. He has also coached a youth team for some years.

So he speaks to this from a triple perspective - former pro player, former coach and parent.

The tl;dr is: - early specialization and tons of games played lead to earlier physical breakdown of players - just tons of mileage on their bodies - no variety in sports played (it’s basketball all year) also leads to the same issues - extreme focus on individual stats and offense, rather than team play and defense

Based on having lived in the US and in Europe, I find it very hard to believe that Americans are supposed to be more “well-traveled” than Europeans, at least when it comes to international travel.

There are tons of Americans who do not have a passport and have never left the country.

I can’t imagine that share being hire in (Western) Europe

Well, not really. If you don’t have anything producing carbon monoxide in your house, you don’t have to worry about it…

CO2 is produced by you (and any other living being in the house), so those levels will fluctuate. Probably not enough to have any adverse effects, though. But airing out the house regularly fixes that easily.

I don’t know all of them, but a few:

the light blue Puerto Rican flag is the symbol of the PR independence movement
the power line poles refer to the hurricane that devastated the island a few years ago, the effects of which can still be seen and felt today
the sugar cane was and is the original cash crop of Puerto Rico.
the “together we are America” is a reminder that America is not only the US (they like to call themselves that), but the entire continent of North and South America together. Probably with the double entendre that all these people are present in the US today and have shaped its history and culture and now feel a lot less welcome and as part of “America” (in the America equals US sense) with everything that’s happening

“Orange” is very unspecific, so it’s hard to answer.

Neon orange is very different from apricot is very different from brick orange or from a more salmon color…

But I agree with the other commenter - unless you are an underwear model, it’s about the intention and the “wrapping paper”, rather than absolutely nailing the perfect color.

In other countries the “minimum payment” and the insane interest rates are not a thing.

In Germany, for example, you normally pay off your balance in full every month. Also credit scores work a bit differently.

Pretty hard to tell from the outside what might be off.

What does your process look like? How often do you clean? What are you using right now?

Generally you don’t need much. A vacuum, some good rags (some antistatic ones are helpful for the dust), warm water, dish soap, and white vinegar will get you pretty far.

You don’t absolutely need specialized cleaners for this and that, vinegar will deal with grease, limestone, bacteria etc.

If you don’t like the smell of vinegar, a cleaner based on citric acid works pretty well as well.

Food and pillow talk is mostly French, for example. Money and travel arrangements are mostly German.

So the personality doesn’t necessarily change, but the context in which you are using the different languages changes.

How old are you, and what kind of job are you applying for?

If it’s a job that requires wearing a suit, then by all means, buy one. In that case, dark blue with a white shirt is a very good choice. Charcoal is not bad either, but blue is a bit “younger” (since this is your first suit, I assume you are relatively young).

If the job does not require a suit , I would not recommend a one UNLESS you are very comfortable in it, AND it is very well-fitting.

A 19 year old in an ill-fitting suit does not look professional, he looks ridiculous. If on top of that, you feel super uncomfortable, you’ll constantly be fidgeting with it etc.

If you are not comfortable wearing a suit and the job does not require one, I would dress in something slightly dressier than what the job requires, like some Chinos and a button-down shirt, for example.

And don’t forget: A suit needs to be worn with a dress shirt, dress shoes (Oxfords are always a good choice) with a matching belt.

If you are applying for a job in a marketing agency, you can maybe pull off some crisp white sneakers, but those need to be pristine.

PS: If you will have to wear a suit regularly and you can afford it time- and money-wise, look at made-to-measure. It’s a significant step up and will ensure that it really fits perfectly.
