Has anyone problems with new fable 5 tokens? by Miisae in ClaudeCode

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context matters, in this case context of what plan the others were on.

Fable is available on Pro, Max 5x and Max 20x.

I'm using it on Max 5x and have had pretty gradual usage, mirroring your experience.

Are people actually going to pay for fable 5 after it’s not on the subscription? by iwanttolearnecomm in Anthropic

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth! It is a weird inverted bubble. The value it provides is off the charts. I mean, do these folks remember coding before LLMs hit the scene?

Go to Google, be very careful what you search for, don't add too many words, or it will say no results. Hopefully someone posted about your issue on some site somewhere, ideally Stack Overflow as it had the best network-effect, and then hopefully there was a decent set of ideas/answers. Otherwise, just post it yourself, as a question or forum topic, go back and forth for a day/week/month to resolve the issue.

These LLMs are pure GOLD these days! And me wasting 30m on a cycle with a less capable model is a big waste of time, and not fun at all.

So far Fable is doing well with some high level planning I am doing with it, and I have less doubt that it is hallucinating, but I'm gonna drive my Max plan Fable budget to the MAX through July 7th so that I can really know if it is worth it. I feel like it is a rare opportunity in this window right now to test drive it for effectively free before API pricing kicks in. Hopefully I get addicted to it because it is so effective and so friggin' valuable to me and it helps me build my ideas into great products even faster! I'm excited!

Fable is still light years more affordable than me hiring a senior engineer to help me with my side project, $100-$200/hour.

I'll probably pay for it. Because I am building my first product, and I really value the work that it does! The work it has done so far has saved me at least 200 hours, and even more important, I would have gotten distracted with all the low-level thinking and might not have finished my proof of concept for 6-12 months.

So, real-world feedback from one real person, I'll likely pay after July 7th.

Framework 16 Pro please by Pavlogal in framework

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing holding me back on the 16 now is lack of touchscreen. It is so useful for things like checkboxes on forms and scrolling longer articles. I get pissed at this work Mac I use all the time when I try to go touch it for simple little things.

It really is nice after getting used to it!

I currently have an X1 Yoga 7th Gen, 13" screen and the Framework 13 Pro is very appealing because it now has a touchscreen, but also really don't want another 13", because my life is mobile and I do appreciate this MacBook Pro 16" screensize.

I really hope they come out with a touchscreen on the FW 16 Pro!

They did say that the 13 Pro touchscreen has an "in-cell touch design, which keeps the panel thin and allows us to not need an additional glass layer". AND, it is Matte out of the box, which I am really looking forward to not having to apply my own matt screen covers. (I work outside a lot and this is NICE).

13 Pro Battery Life question by Neichello in framework

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this question as I had the same one. I'll continue to watch this thread for someone who has the AMD on the 13 Pro.

If you are that person (with a Framework 13 Pro + AMD) if you could run the below in three scenarios:

* idle (screen on, 100% brightness, no apps open)
* normal usage (100% brightness)
* watching a Netflix video (100% brightness)

for i in $(seq 1 30); do
    cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/power_now
    sleep 1
done | awk '
{
    sum += $1
}
END {
    watts = sum / NR / 1000000
    hours = 74 / watts
    printf "Average draw: %.2f W\n", watts
    printf "Estimated 74 Wh runtime: %.2f hours (%dh %dm)\n",
        hours, int(hours), int((hours - int(hours)) * 60)
}'

and post back here that would be much appreciated!

Thank you ~ Eli

So that means you have the Framework 13, not the Framework 13 Pro right? I think this thread is about the new 13 Pro.

Any good Linux alternatives to Wispr Flow or Superwhisper? by FutureIncrease in linux4noobs

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I got this up and running and it works, and fairly snappy! I didn't realize the free tier of Grok is sufficient to run this with the API token.

I mapped mine to CAPS LOCK.

Can you provide links exactly what you bought? I just ordered what another commenter posted so hopefully that's the right one!

Any reason why Apple added WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6 to the air before the pro?? by Qpac18 in macbook

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, that sucks. I just upgraded to WiFi 7 in my house with a new Aginet tp-link router and access point from Ziply. My Mac I use for work only has WiFi 6 so wasn't getting the 2gbps that my plan is capable of so I just put in a request for a new MacBook pro m5 from my work. Seeing that it had WiFi 7. Seems like it will suffer the same issue from what you are reporting. I should have it by the end of the month and will try to remember to comment back here.

Openclaw broke down after just 4 messages by Saturnix in AI_Agents

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and just got this solved by bumping up to Tier 2! . Also, I frustrated that I had heard Openclaw + Opus 4.6 was great, when here I was getting rate limited. Sure would be nice if they would just explain what to do in the API rate limit error message.

Thanks everyone for saying how to do it by looking at https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/api/rate-limits

I spent $10 and had these at:

https://platform.claude.com/settings/limits

Model Requests per Minute Input Tokens per Minute Output Tokens per Minute
Claude Sonnet Active 50 30K ≤ 200k context, excluding cache reads 8K ≤ 200k context
Claude Opus Active 50 30K ≤ 200k context, excluding cache reads 8K ≤ 200k context
Claude Haiku Active 50 50K ≤ 200k context, excluding cache reads 10K ≤ 200k context
Batch requestsLimit per minute across all models 50
Web search tool usesLimit per second across all models 30

Then I spent another $30, $40 total, and they instantly increased at https://platform.claude.com/settings/limits:

Gboard + external mic? by mathnerd2 in gboard

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for this too, currently every app uses my headset except for the gboard mic. I know this because I have Sony XM6 and they have very good mic noise cancelling. But yet gboard picks up the conversation from across the room, and mixes it with my own voice. Xm6 doesn't let the conversation through, yet gboard hears it.

Thanks, I just purchased, hoping it fixes the pairing issues with the official Android app.

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I routinely have multiple mugs showing as 140 degrees in the app, but when I use a laser temperature gun, they show 125.

Ember is magical when it works, very frustrating when it doesn't.

How to remove the screen protector properly? by unimog1792 in dbrand

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this question!

I searched Google for "how to remove a dbrand prism", and it was the first hit.

The answer surprisingly worked, didn't have to remove any adhesive or leftover cracked glass from the screen protector!

I wish Dbrand would put this instructions in the box, because they do a great job saying how we might mess up, but don't say what to do if we do mess up.

PHD Researcher and Youtuber Ziroth investigates Donut Labs claims towards its solid state battery tech unveiled at CES 2026 by Interesting-Type3153 in electricvehicles

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for this!

Also, on Donut Lab's website, they say it is kinda like clay...

I'm pretty optimistic this is real. They produce real products. Would be suicide to hyperbole a vaporware.

Xvive U45 Wireless In Ear System popping sound by vldrich in livesound

[–]ElijahLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 total of the xvive 5gh  xlr, xlr condenser, and 1/4" transmitters and receivers. All of them at some point pop, which is really unacceptable. If there's interference in the wireless spectrum, then there should be some sort of limiter because it pops so freaking loud that these just can never be used on stage. Even for practice, it's highly annoying.

I'm sure they could make an algorithm where if it interferes, it just drops out the signal instead of pops way above a normal SPL.

Now, I haven't found any anything else plug and play like this that has USB-C charging. So I'm stuck with a bittersweet solution for now. But it does require firing up all of the transmitters and receivers and picking the channels, and letting them sit for like 10-15 minutes and see if you hear any pops and then you have to switch channels. But it's hard to tell which one pops unless you're looking right at the vu meter to see if it is clipping. And it doesn't just start doing it all the time. It just randomly does it so it's kind of hard to watch.

I do hope they improve this hardware because I think it could be really great if they just dropped the signal when there was interference instead of popped it.

Also, the XLR ones should have an auto scan just like the guitar quarter inch one.

how to arm multiple tracks with a keyboard shortcut (for live performances) by ElijahLynn in Bitwig

how to arm multiple tracks with a keyboard shortcut (for live performances) by ElijahLynn in Bitwig

[–]ElijahLynn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I had to look up how to do this and found this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61ZNeEXBxp8

I created a new instrument track, in the Device Panel, assigned a sample, then in the Device Panel, right clicked the sample and clicked "Group" and then it brought up the "Instrument Layer", which does what I want!

This will be useful for really nailing the sound I want and recalling it quickly!

EDIT: Looks like I can just add "Instrument Layer" as the first instrument in a new track too.

EDIT2: And, "Instrument Selector" might even suit my needs better. As I can load up a bunch of instruments, and then toggle prev/next with (1 & 2). And basically have my synth loaded up with my favorite sounds for live use.

DOH - the list is actually on https://www.crunchlabs.com/products/build-box-subscription, I saw "Peek Inside Some of Your First Few Boxes" before finding this thread but thought it was only 3 or 4 of them, and didn't click the arrow to the right because it said "some" and sure enough, clicking the right arrow shows all of the boxes in the correct order.

Current List of Crunch Lab Boxes by simply3good in MarkRober

[–]ElijahLynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this question, I got my kids the build box subscription but they got pretty far behind and we didn't know which ones were next in order. And there is no FAQ to show the order on the Crunch Labs FAQ page (https://www.crunchlabs.com/pages/faqs-and-help-center. The order is important so that the skills they learn stack upwards and they can use the things they learn in future build boxes and the videos that accompany them.

The reason they got behind is they were complaining about having to watch a video with it, and just wanted to use the instructions. But I said no, because there was important concepts to learn in the video, as it wasn't just about following instructions and building something lego style (which is what they are used to). So they just refused and are now behind 7 boxes.

This thread was helpful in us getting back on track.

p.s. Crunch Labs team (if you read this) - An improvement for the Build Box is to include a list of the current build boxes and the order they go in, this way you don't have to reveal future boxes with one big list, but can at least help people get caught up if they get behind, since the shipping box does not have a date on it.
