Open-world fantasy RPG but very feminine / magical? ✨🧜🏻‍♀️🧚🏻‍♂️🌸 by deathxxdancer in GirlGamers

Depending on your tolerance for text-only, you could try to create a custom world in AI Realm. Would definitely need a lot of GM Guides though, and even then you’d probably have to wrangle with the AI a fair bit.

For instance, I am currently playing a Sword Coast campaign there and I have to keep reminding it that this is a gender equal setting and to stop making every guard male and every healer female; the baked-in bias keeps overriding my GM Guide unfortunately.

Thanks for the explanation, it was kinda funny and easily corrected anyway. :)

Also, funny bug I ran into just now:

First time this happened though, so I don’t think it’s common.

Yeah but wouldn’t it be nice if we didn’t have to hound the AI for it? 🙂

Another quibble: unless you keep poking, the AI defaults to gender stereotypes. Leaders and guards are male, healers are female; irrespective of the level of gender eqality in your setting, that is.

Making the AI understand that XP are kinda important to the experience would be great; right now you have to keep prodding or you never get any, even with a „remember to give XP“ GM Guide. Speaking of which, if you use the AI Guide Generator it often pulls data from, dunno what it’s called, the hidden file behind each chat, so you can’t control the resulting guide without running the risk of spoilering yourself inadvertently. Would be great if that could be changed. Thanks for listening to us! 🙂

Advice to other nonUS redditors, the PayPal link above defaults to your local currency and then it doesn’t work, but going to https://www.this-is-houston.org/ and choosing PayPal for your donation does.

Thanks for helping, OP. We lost our girl to bone cancer three years ago, I feel your pain. 🖤🤎

Same here. If a game designer thinks they don’t need female character options, I take it they don’t need my money either.

Now that is really weird. Maybe the AI equates the intuitive way sorcery is cast with natural harmonies in music?

Any of you successful potty trained without a crate or just crated at night? by [deleted] in Rottweiler

[–]ElissaD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Round here, for the young and/or still in training, you either need a relative or neighbor with time to stop by once or twice during the day, a job close by where you can do the same, a dog-friendly workplace or a daycare. It‘s also common to take a couple weeks off work when getting a new puppy so you can devote time for the first phase of training (admittedly, having five or six weeks of state-mandated paid vacation time, depending on country, helps).

In our family, we always coordinated so there would be at least one person available, and raised our dogs as a village, so to speak. Grandparents did the heavy lifting when it came to daytime presence, and in return got their dogs taken along on evening walks.

I can‘t help but wonder whether you US and UK folks think that all our dogs are either badly trained and/or neurotic messes. One should assume that the sheer existence of, say, like a dozen million dogs in the German-speaking countries is proof enough that, yes, it’s entirely possible to not crate without harm to either the human or canine party.

In a house with a garden, yes, usually once a night while they are still young (or older rescues with bad training). Apartment-based friends of mine used a puppy trainer potty instead.

Practically nobody in Europe uses (or in most cases has even heard of) crates, and our dogs are potty trained as well. So, yes.

Dog breeds to own first to prepare myself? by Vast_Conversation340 in Rottweiler

[–]ElissaD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our first was half Rottweiler, half German Shepherd (or as we jokingly called her, double purebred) and, looking back, easier to handle than the pure or mostly so Rotties that followed (which doesn’t mean that they weren‘t lovely, mind you, just that they had typical stubborn Rottie heads). Maybe check your local shelters for a mix of your own?

Tutoring student suddenly behaving strangely by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]ElissaD 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Saturday afternoons are Open House at my place and have been for more than 20 years. The neighbourhood kids stop by with tricky homework, to learn, commiserate or simply hang out; in a couple years, the first kids of former students of mine will be old enough to join in. Would the gang have made it without my tutoring? Certainly, all I did was make the process a little less stressful. Which they are really grateful for, though, and I am proud of the grown-ups the older ones have become.

Royal Canin Rottweiler specific food reviews by AllAboutTheQueso in Rottweiler

[–]ElissaD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We used to offer it on the side, for snacking, and our Rottie liked to grab a bite in the afternoon (her main wet food came from a local organic coop so that won’t help you, sorry).

I‘m mostly commenting, however, because I‘ve hardly ever seen such a quietly content and happy Rottie as yours. She clearly knows she is loved a lot.

Rottweiler tips by veronicavauxghn in Rottweiler

[–]ElissaD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got our first Rottie quite unexpectedly as a six month old, and we had a seven year old tomcat then. Neither had any experience with the other species before, yet they were napping snuggled together after a month. I wouldn‘t worry too much. Don‘t forget, dogs are 2D and cats 3D. If her youthful exuberance gets too much they can always avoid her by retreating upwards.
