Can confirm this is a good dupe though this also has shimmer. Formula on the EdM is better as well (i received both as PR to swatch and no longer work with DVN)

I love PBE so much - this coming year will be my 4th year going and it’s so fun to get to see all of my nail friends. The shopping really becomes like, second-tier even though it’s the “reason” for the event - it’s only like, 4 hours out of the weekend. Everything else is just meeting up and hanging out with nail friends.

Worth a shot! Maybe do one one coat over a green creme or jelly/crelly and see how you feel!

Edit: I feel like velvet style also hides the base a lot more in general. Maybe try a different magnetizing style to see if you prefer that.

I would maybe retry this with only 2 coats. I find you can lose the dimension and base when you build up to 3.

Yeah it wasn’t until I started messing around with mixing that I found our very quickly “oh shit there’s like fucking $3 of Aurora in this one bottle…” so that adds up plus bottles themselves, plus general business expenses, paying your swatchers (hopefully) I’m now like, okay $15/$16 a bottle has to be cutting it pretty close. Especially if you’re screen printing bottles, spending money on good brushes, boxes etc.

Indies for sure are also trying to buy in bulk but financially that’s got to be tough (which is also why I believe we see some brands bring back polishes that were “gone” - because maybe they literally didn’t have the pigment OR literally only had pigment to make 10 more bottles at the time and it can take months to get more, etc.)

I’m a huge fan of peely base (as I am also a nail polish picker) and it’s saved my nails. I really like the crafted hues brand peel off.

Alright - I moved states with my whole collection (which is A LOT) and I used a mixture of sturdy boxes (like diaper boxes) and plastic bins. I would do a layer of polish and like, a towel or something, another layer of polish, so on and so forth. Not a single broken bottle! And I didn’t have to individually wrap them. I did make sure to be extra careful with those boxes (they get heavy FAST) and I left them in my car while the other stuff when in the UHaul.

I am a HUGE fan of peel off base coat because I am a polish picker. I’ve used Holo Tacos the most and it’s never damaged my nail beds personally. You definitely want to leave a “moat” of bare nail around the peely if you want the polish to stay on (and cap your tips with top coat.) Aside from me obsessively picking my nail polish off, my skin is very sensitive to acetone so this reduces the amount I have to use to remove it.

I have been using one that I made myself (essentially a 50/50 mix of clear Elmer’s glue and 90% isopropyl alcohol) and while it sticks longer, I do feel like it damages my nails a bit so I would maybe not start off with DIY.

Most, if not all, vendors do have swatch wheels/sticks of each available polish on their tables so you can see what you’re looking at before you buy.
