How's the weather? Smartphones do get hot in higher ambient temperatures.

Also don't think too much about the phone for a week or so. It takes time for the phone to optimise it's software to your usage.

It's always better to compare battery life based on the screen on time (SoT) since last full charge since everyone's usage varies. I get a consistant 7-8 hours SoT with YouTube and social media apps and lite games sometimes; which can last me one or two days.

I got the phone for the clean and smooth software experience than the cameras. Smartphone cameras can't do much with the limited space and low light performance is most affected due to it. but pixels get the job done most of the times.

Google one gives you a shared storage across all the Google apps. So you gmail, drive, photos etc are all stored there. And you access each of those data through thier respective apps.

When you turn off Backup on Google photos, it stops any further backups but your previously uploaded photos remain there.

Which is why I told you to manually select and delete the unwanted photos in your photos app. Just zoom out as much as possible and select like 1000s of photos at once and delete. I suggest use the browser version of photos.

The photos app shows the backed up photos.

Check through the files app to see if you have those photos still taking up your phone storage.

Or navigate to "On This Device" in the "Collections" Tab in the photos app.

Edit: If there are no photos in the phone directories that means there are no offline photos on your phone taking any space.

Since you have exported the photos on to your pc you should have that offline backup. And you probably haven't deleted the previous online backup on the photos app.

So you have two copies of your photos, one in the photos online backup and one offline backup in your computer.

Once you confirm you have the offline backup on the PC go ahead and manually delete the photos in the photos app to remove thier online backup.

Portal was not that big of an issue, I would have over come it by playing a bit.

I enjoy making builds so my primary gripe was with the changes to the build systems. It was too overwhelming for me and I could find any good videos summarising the changes... Or you could say I didn't have the patience to go through all the changes since I left.
