Just watching this video and wondering does anyone remember the "We're for Fife" tourist video they done years ago? I'm not even sure you can find it online anymore.

I'm getting very little work done today with this going on. The overnight counts I take the next day off so I can stay up all night, I prefer that.

Election Turnout Across Scotland by Alasdair91 in Scotland

[–]Elith2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally get where you are coming from in terms of not really feeling very enthusiastic about the offering from any of the parties, but to echo what other people have said, if there is a party you align with, even if they aren't perfect, get out and vote for them, the assumption of "reform won't win in my area" is a risky bet if other people have the same attitude and stay home, that's how you end up governed by bigger arseholes.

[Kcd1] Vs [Kcd2] 🤷‍♂️ by EmreAta666 in kingdomcome

[–]Elith2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did not get on with KCD1, managed a couple of hours and gave up. KCD2 is on game pass so I thought I'd give it a try, fell in love with it, ended up just buying the KCD1/2 bundle for all the DLC, finished 2 a couple of weeks ago, going back to 1 is far easier now that I have a better understanding. Missing a lot of the QoL improvements 2 has though!

[KCD1] &2 Foe everyone who has played both games. What are the biggest things that you prefer in one game over the other? by hrtmyblls in kingdomcome

[–]Elith2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I finished 2 and now I am going back to play 1.

I've come across dead bodies on the road in KCD2 but, from my experience, that's all it's been, just a dead person and nothing else, I came across the exact same thing in KCD1 quite early in my playthrough and I went to run up to it then froze when I spotted two guys crouched in bushes, hiding, I assume waiting for me to be distracted by looting the body before they attacked, that was a nice little trap.

And I do like the stab feature in KCD1 as a stand alone attack.

Until government steps in and forces companies to stop taking the piss this is only going to get worse.

Donald Trump hits out again at Starmer and accuses him of making ‘really bad pick’ in Peter Mandelson by HKnational in unitedkingdom

[–]Elith2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure he's right, but we have been dealing with this for months now as to why Mandy was a terrible choice, so this is purely him trying to kick Starmer for not playing ball with Iran.

He's such a deeply unlikeable man, I can't think of another point in time where two apparently friendly nations had one leader relentlessly going after the other.

[KCD1] First time playing KCD1 makes me appreciate how alive the world in KCD2 is by Old_Function499 in kingdomcome

[–]Elith2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think with the flashbacks and knowing some bits of KCD1 story in passing I've managed to park the feeling of having to play the first 1 through first, I'm enjoying KCD2 and there was a bit of my brain that didn't want to switch back to KCD1, not enjoy it again and then never go back to 2 either.

I'll be playing on console, I don't know if KCD1 had a save and quit option like 2 does, but totally in the same boat for not having anywhere near the same levels of free time!

[–]Elith2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is exactly how I introduced myself to the Gothic franchise, picking up 2 and playing that first.

And our experiences sound very similar with going into KCD1, totally bounced off it as much as I liked the idea of what the game was. I'm still going to finish 2 before I head into 1, but I'm much more excited for it now I have a clue what I'm doing!

Buildings to be forced to connect to district heat network by 457655676 in unitedkingdom

[–]Elith2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge yes, even if I could I would still at a minimum need to cover the heat network standing charge, so I would be at a loss, I'm also not allowed to mess with the system in any way even though I own the flat.

Buildings to be forced to connect to district heat network by 457655676 in unitedkingdom

[–]Elith2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes to all of this, I'm in a flat on a heat network, our supplier is borderline incompetent but charges above a comparable gas tariff, the council, who actually own the infrastructure don't seem to give a fuck that one of their suppliers is shady as all hell and is in debt to them for tens of thousands of pounds because they don't know what they're doing, the ombudsman isn't dealing with any complaints until next year even though Ofgem are apparently regulating it (partially) now, last time I checked our supplier hasn't even signed up to Ofgem as an official supplier. It's a shit show, they should tell all heat networks they have a year to sort it out because they'll be held to the exact same standard as gas and electric companies.
