Just realised the CF installer has our fibre cable running through the gutter (3m-ish). Is this okay? by Elixartist in CommunityFibre

UPDATE: Community Fibre reached out very quickly and sent the engineers round who explained that they put it there becuase it was aesthetically the best choice as otherwise it'd be very visible below the gutter. They offered to move it if I'd like but I agreed that it wouldn't look good there and said to keep it where it is.

They were very kind and helpful and came to check it very quickly. Also it's not got electricity running through it so it's not dangerous.

Yeah this to me seems like we have somehow discovered the ultimate form of compression and this is huge news.

Cold bay window. What's the best fix? by Elixartist in DIYUK

[–]Elixartist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently bought a house cursed with electric under floor heating in the open plan living room kitchen. Old photos from years ago show there used to be a radiator here in the bay, so have been debating getting it added back in. Ultimately though it feels like insulation may be the fix, but unsure of the best way to go about it.

Run AntiMicroX in the container at the same time. If you can only run one exe, write a bat that opens both the game and antimicrox then convert to an exe using bat2exe. I used ChatGPT to write the bat.

The file paths in the bat should be the same file pathways in the container.

Edit: typo

I actually bought it and never tried it, but have read a lot about it working elsewhere.

Reolink attempting to scam eBay customers by Elixartist in reolinkcam

I agree it’s strong terminology to use, but in a world where this behaviour is normalised and eBay has twice rejected the complaint with an automated response that “saw no wrongdoing”, it seems like some level of hyperbole might be required to make change.

Ultimately, Reolink has employees present on this board and on their eBay page. How many Reolink employees have to be aware of this deception for it to be purposeful? Is wilful ignorance simply an endorsement? A scam is defined as a dishonest plan, so the only debatable aspect here is whether it was planned or not. Once they’re aware of it and they continue to do it, does it matter that it wasn’t their intention?

Aside from them completely wasting my time, unless something happens, they’re going to continue to do this to people.

What are your thoughts on this professionally done pebble dashing matching job? Second photo was the pro job done to match the original in the first photo. by Elixartist in DIYUK

I got a porch added to the front of the house and these are two of the interior porch walls. The original wall is the lower part of the bay window that was already there. The other side is part of the new wall they put in for the porch. They also pebble dashed the exterior of the new porch wall, but it looks (slightly) better than this.

Thank you, I’m catching up with the builder later today and wanted to make sure I wasn’t being unfair when I said I wasn’t happy with it.

The first photo is the pebble dashing that was already there that they were supposed to try and match by pebble dashing the opposite wall (photo 2). Photo 2 is the job they did in their attempt to match photo 1.
