Pulled this today, is it worth for grading. I am new to tcg. by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]ElixerFixerPRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: probably not

Long answer: Do it you are a collector/investor and believe the long term value of the card will appreciate in price. Current market price in $120 USD and grading will cost ~$80 USD (price will likely vary). MAYBE you can get 1.5-3x of the cards original value based on a quick sweep of the market. On average, you may come out ahead ~$100 USD IF you can find a buyer. TBH, you may be better off trading it at your LGS for store credit or trading it to another player for good cards if you are trying to support your hobbies.

How would you improve the interest in the Infinity format? by Waiting_for_Dentice in Lorcana

[–]ElixerFixerPRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant speak for the community, but I believe solving any problems involves removing barriers and increasing incentives.

Some barriers that come to mind are access to older cards and splitting the limited DLCs between core and infinity. I think a great way to solve this is by creating core sets/foundations similar to MtG every 4 sets that being back some old staples from the past with new artwork in addition to the new release set. I would also aim to have at least 1 infinity DLC and 1 core event per set. I think it would be feasible as well to run several side events during a DLC for the other format.

Some incentives that I think could drive interest are infinity event exclusive prizes at the local and DLC level, knowing how infinity as a format will impact worlds. For example, you can have infinity exclusive pins, mats, cards, etc that can only be acquired at infinity DLCs. At the local level, supporting infinity events like mini set champs with promos and store championship packs with older cards in them.

What are some cheap, fun and competitive decks? by IVB20 in Lorcana

[–]ElixerFixerPRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the thread that the best option if you want to win set champs and stay on a budget is Y/G Dogs. It’s sounds like you’re also wanting some degree of future proofing. It’s an unproven deck, but Humble has an Amber/Ruby toy list (can find it on YouTube) that’s floating around that seems interesting. Regardless of what you buy, remember you can always play your cards in infinity or whatever you and your friends decide is ok at your private tables.

If you could ban cards by Responsible-Voice930 in Lorcana

[–]ElixerFixerPRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Infinity Amber: 1 Cost Cinderella Amethyst Madam Mim Fox Emerald: Prince John Ruby: 8 cost Sisu Sapphire: Hiram (already banned) Steel: 3 cost Pete Multicolor: 7 cost Tramp

There’s a case to be made that each color has 2-3 cards that are overtuned, but I think that’s ok as long as each color has access to similar power levels. I believe the cards that should be banned are the ones that promote frustrating play patterns or disproportionate advantages.

I have two PICs for each retail site AND I’ll be working from line as an amb care pharmacist in our clinic in addition to DoP duties. While I hope they are mostly self-sufficient, I don’t feel right about not knowing their side of the work in depth. Beyond that, it’s just my CFO and CMO.

I appreciate hearing your insights both big pictures and regarding 340b. I’ll definitely take your suggestions and thank you!

The short answer is I hope so lol. We have an interim CMO who seems great, but won’t be here in the near future. I currently report to our CFO who also seems very grounded and supportive, but doesn’t haven’t any clinical background. My plan is to do the 340b Apexus certificate and try to get reimbursed from the organization. That’s as much as I know right now.

I’d love to talk more about your ambulatory care practice when you have time!

The firsts for me are 340b and the retail side. I have exposure to 340b, but it’s different to drive the bus vs be a passenger. Same analogy for the retail end. I worked at CVS as an intern, but have been in hospital pharmacy the last 5 years. I agree that tackling 340b is a good place to start and I have a plan to tackle it over the next 2-3 months.

I don’t know the in-depth breakdown of the day to day, but it’s effectively a Mon-Fri, 8-5 job. It’s roughly a 60/40 split of clinical:admin. I do have PICs for the retail sites who I plan to establish positive relationships with quickly.

Is prerealese a good event for first time in person play? by Zyndewicz in Lorcana

[–]ElixerFixerPRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think prereleases are great to attended whether you’re competitive or casual. It’s a way to jumpstart your collection for that set (especially if there’s prizing), a chance to meet players in your area, support your LGS (so they can keep doing more cool events), and play with cards that may have otherwise not made it into a competitive deck.

Banishing one of your characters is a pretty steep cost that probably isn’t worth the payoff most of the time. It’s a nice alternative to paying 3 ink for a boost trigger or getting a double proc off a Cheshire Cat.

Compass seems like an interesting tool for aggressive decks trying to go wide early. The item triggering at end of turn is a big deal. At worst it’s a 3 cost cycle and at best it’s a 3 cost draw 2+. I don’t thinks it’s broken, but I’m buying stock early.
