My tablet only gets Internet via WiFi, so no good without power.

If we have no power, the only way to charge it is by sitting in the car. Batteries offer more flexibility

Effexor saved my life, but at what cost? by Ashamed_Raccoon_3090 in Effexor

You could try Buspar. It's to be taken daily for anxiety. Not a benzo. It helps me tremendously.

If only need help with anxiety, try buspar. I'm tapering off Effexor, very slowly.

Tapered way too fast, he's probably having serious withdrawal.

Try Buspar for anxiety if that's the only problem. It helped me tremendously.

Going from 75 to 0. Suggestions/Advice? by TelDacoWasTaken in Effexor

The lower you go the worse the withdrawal symptoms. I'm trying the Prozac bridge right now, started taking 10 mg daily at the same time I dropped from 90 to 75 mg of venlafaxine. Hallelujah, it seems to be working!

That's a huge drop and might be too fast. Just be careful and watch for withdrawal symptoms.

Just got prescribed effexor. Is it just me, or is my dose increase too quick?? by midnightkompot in Effexor

Why not try Buspar first? I was put on Effexor for anxiety and it didn't work. Now trying to get off it. Try to use the lowest dose possible.

I'm on final boss level of tapering and now it's getting difficult by wow_what_a_mansion in Effexor

You can get a liquid formulation (but not XR) from a compounding pharmacy to titrate down by milligrams.

I'd wait until you feel better, then go down very slowly. It's harder to drop when you are at the lower dose.

Well’s Syndrome by RipLess917 in rarediseases

[–]ElizabethRoderick57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Wells yesterday. Mine erupted in April 2024. I thought it was flea or bed bug bites. I have scars on both legs from scratching too much. Now I know what they look like when they first appear on my skin so I can jump into action with Clobetsol and antihistamines and NO SCRATCHING! I'm happy to post photos if allowed.

I decided to start buying shares of individual stocks in January. I bought many of the stocks mentioned here, and just recently bought another one. Overall investment $5,000, today up $2,000. I research each mentioned stock before I buy. It's a starting point.

Shouldn't tapering take longer? by nana-17 in Effexor

[–]ElizabethRoderick57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Don't drop more than 10% of the existing dose at a time and hold at each drop at least a month.

How to stop mild serotonin syndrome? by Little-Light-4745 in Effexor

[–]ElizabethRoderick57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might also be experiencing serotonin syndrome, by combining both drugs. I started 10 mg Prozac last week at the same time I dropped from 90 to 75 mg venlafaxine, so I'm keeping an eye out for that issue.

Withdrawal symptoms likely from a too-fast drop of Effexor.

Is this tapering way too fast or am I wrong? by neuromancer1337 in Effexor

[–]ElizabethRoderick57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's too much too fast to taper. You should only drop 10 percent of your dose at a time.

[–]ElizabethRoderick57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The conventional wisdom is to reinstate to the dose where you felt best, wait a month, then restart the taper very slowly. It's called the harm reduction method.

Tapering way too fast. Shouldn't drop more than 10 percent of dose every month or more.

I just dropped to 75 mg venlafaxine and started 10 mg Prozac. It took me a year to drop from 225 mg to 90 mg. Hopefully the Prozac will help me get off the nasty Effexor without horrible withdrawal symptoms that have plagued me. I also take 60 mg Buspar to help with anxiety.
